  1. It's nice to see for once its wet and miserable outside but the cold weather is on its way behind. I can't stand it when it's the other way round , rain proceeded by a bit of snow then any snow you might get will all be washed away a couple of hours later leaving behind mild damp mushy weather... 💦💦💦â„â„â„â„⛄⛄⛄
  2. The mood in the model thread is very positive this morning and talk of the cold lasting and possible a channel low which I'm guessing would be good news for us down here.(Hopefully ) â„ https://forum.netweather.tv/topic/82366-model-output-discussion-23rd-jan-12z-onwards/page-67
  3. Lol, it's on it's way. To get just a dusting would be great after the last few years. My 3 year old boy is begging me for snow. I think he believes I control the weather, if only .. â„â„â„â„â„â„â„â„â„

  7. Just watched the weather outlook at 21:55 on BBC and the lady said very cold weekend but next week high pressure moving over us in the south from the Atlantic so any showers dying out and turning dry but some very cold nights. Just hope we can get some snow cover before the high moves over us. â„⛄
  8. Still looking ok for 5 days I guess but as soon as I read this on the express I knew they would put a jinx on it all. I love this part... “We are now 95 per cent certain that the whole of the country will be affected from the start of February. “Such is the severity of this situation I have written to the Government’s Cabinet Office Briefing Room (COBRA) committee urging them to take immediate action.â€

  13. Hi, could someone just tell me why it is that the BBC weather forcast for this weekend and on into next week with even a mention of the first week in feb shows cold, mild, then cold but only talk of rain and no mention of the S word? http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/feeds/30958304 Trying to read the models myself and reading the post on here but it looks like there is potential for a cold snap/spell with some places seeing snow as we go into the middle to late part of next week. Is it that the BBC forcast could already be outdated or is it a case that they are getting a lot better information from sources we don't have acces to? Just curious that's all.. Many thank in advance.
  14. Weather for the week ahead. 💦💦💦℠BBC weather forcast for this weekend and whole of next week.. Even a mention of the first week of February's possible weather. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/feeds/30958304

  16. I can hear the rain on my window . I hate that they turn the street lights of from midnight. Can't see a thing outside my window. Gonna miss lamp post watching if we do get a snow night . â„â„â„
  17. When Glacia Point said he was moving on I like the majority on here was gutted because he had so much noalage and always could give us a good idea on what was likely to happen even when the models might have been showing something different to what we were expecting or hoping to see. Well what a relief when This man joined the forum #306 fergieweather Members 1,325 posts Gender:Male Location:North Somerset, UK It's great to have someone from the met office taking time out to come here and share any information he has on the up and coming weather.. I'm a complete novice and struggle to read the models but I'm on here daily trying my best and taking notice from the likes of Steve Murr, Tetis(eye in the sky), nick Sussex , Tamara to name but a few. Plus all this wouldn't be possible with out this fantastic site and all the moderators who keep an eye on the forum daily . Net Weather.. Big thank you .. ⛄ Just needed to get all that of my chest.. Anyway I'm a lot happier this morning looking at the models as they seem to have shifted back to a colder week with the possibly of snow turning up all most anywhere. P.S ... Hope that one day Glacia Point may come back on here and pay us all a visit.
  18. How much do I hate these 4 little words when you keep hearing probably rain.... " South of the M4" But to be fair I'm no expert but the charts look like we will all get snow at some point during the next few days. â„â„â„â„â„â„â„
  19. Good morning I wonder if that is what the met office were seeing when they wrote there update yesterday ? "UK Outlook for Monday 19 Jan 2015 to Wednesday 28 Jan 2015: Dry, cold and clear for much of central Britain on Monday and Tuesday with showers affecting many coastal counties away from the south, readily falling as sleet and snow. There will be a widespread frost overnight and some localised patches of freezing fog which may be slow to clear through the day. Through the rest of next week, the general cold conditions will persist bringing an ongoing risk of snow, more especially in northern and eastern areas. Temperatures will be generally below average with overnight frosts, locally severe. Towards the end of the period there looks to be a possible return to more generally unsettled conditions with rain, strong winds and temperatures perhaps nearer to normal for the time of year." Hope we get a decent cold spell. ⛄
  20. No chance..... Lol.. Happy new year and bring on the cold and snow ⛄⛄⛄
  21. Good evening, Well I don't post much on here but I'm always on here daily reading through this thread as I find its very addictive.. Anyway looking at all the different models its very hard to decide how the weather pattern will turn out on the turn of the new year and on into January . Like a lot of people on here have said that they believe a cold spell will come at short notice and I also believe this will be the case.. To show this I will provide 2 links that show both how the winter or 1947 kicked off and the winter of 62/63. They are very interesting videos to watch and just go to show how how a cold spell can spring up from nowhere . The person doing these videos goes through to show you how the great winters started and he goes through each day right until the freeze finally gave up its grip. Don't give up hope and hopefully are time will come soon. Winter 1947 and how it all started . Winter 62/63
  22. Give us a clue :)I remember last year or the year b4 you said it was to do with sea guls I believe ?? And you was correct on that ocasion.Hope your keeping well and always enjoy reading your posts.
  23. Hi Ian, does this mean more of the wet stuff in the mild form? Hope not. :/
  24. You right, I should have titled it "Have we ever had similar Weather patterns on a Global scale." I can't see an option to change the title now though. But I'm very Intrested on the info about the winter of 62/63 and wish that I'd been around back then to witness it..
