  1. Snowed here, a nice covering. Usually happy as a mouse in a cheese shop, but boiler broken, so great joy tempered by cold. Still it looks very pretty.
  2. meto have mentioned the words 'breezy, and 'windy' in their forecast for Wales. Is that stiffupperlipian speak for roaring wind and whippingly cold with it? Or is it just outside my house then?
  3. have just asked husband (Thornaby boy kid racer) what a grifter was. He's gone all misty eyed nostalgicie like.... you know when they say a) it's as easy as riding a bike..... Or, B) you never forget how to ride a bike.... a) no it isn't and B) yes you can..... Bruised derrière and scraped knees testify to that.
  4. Woohoo. Snow! Whether it will continue for long, or settle, who can say, but pleasant for me, bit of a shock for council, as they spent most of yesterday evening racing grifters down the road for nowt. Rats .... Gritters. Who will rid me of this miserable autospell check?
  5. Have watched big yellow Mr Blobby slowly shrink to weirdy spectre looking jelly fish on meto during the day. Snow - not a jot, and combined with, yet again, failed attempt to cook pork, am not a happy lady. Especially after a) persuading husband to chop more logs in anticipation of snowmageddon and getting out the goosedown duvet (not needed so far this year) and c) wondering whether the fragrant Ms Tobin on meto/beeb weather vid being a bit too, hmm, what shall I say, unseasonably uncovered in the frock frontage area.... presumably all offices in meto/beeb, blood warm and no need for jumpers then............
  6. No snow as yet in the Ceiriog (4 miles from Llangollen). Cloudy sky that doesn't look snowy. Temps around 4 degrees.
  7. listening to nature outside, from the fireside, the Ceiriog river is in noisy tumult and competing with the roaring wind - which sounds stronger than last night. temps rising now to 8 degrees Celsius.
  8. Heard the wind through the night but not too much damage - few plant pots over but river very swollen and fast and we've just had a cracking hailstorm - very glad to be working from home and in front of rayburn - having temporarily put guilt over having central heating on firmly on backboiler for now, along with the kettle.....
  9. Chilly wind and hailstorms in the Ceiriog Valley and my climbing rose still flowering....
  10. Re: BBC new website weather page - it just seems to me like too noisy graphics and content lite - no different than printed weather page in dead tree press
