Yeah it’s a bit odd, almost like they’ve thrown it out retrospectively to cover the fact they possibly should’ve issued one much earlier! Given it appears to be edging south now & still looks pretty strong shouldn’t areas further south be issued with one also? Met office app now switched to heavy snow 6-9pm!

Met office has a 50% risk of light snow again from 3pm, escalating from then up to a 90% risk of heavy snow at 6pm, so will be interesting to see if that’s correct.

It’s the pivoting causing it I think, you can sort of see it on the rain today radar, it’s backfilling slightly just south of Brum between Bromsgrove & Solihull as it pivots.

Still going here, almost stopped but has picked back up again, bizarre as should be clear of here now based on the radar!

Very light now, almost stopped, 7cms here so at top end of my original expectations, with potential for a bit more later perhaps.

Northward progression has definitely slowed right down, not quite down to a crawl yet but nowhere near as quick as an hour ago. Can we cling onto the southern edge here in Brum?

Gone a bit lighter here now, end is nigh perhaps? Must be up to almost 8cms now I reckon so a good days work whatever happens now.

I can confirm still snowing south of Brum (circa 8 miles due south) heavily to!

Don’t think it’ll get as far north as that, looks like it’s slowing considerably now. Just waiting for the 10.15 radar update.

Is it starting to pivot now? Eyes could be deceiving (seeing what I want to see probably), so could be wrong.

Will be clear if Brum in an hour if it doesn’t stop it’s NE March soon, isn’t it supposed to have pivoted by now?

Gone lighter here now but still stunning watching the flakes fall, definitely a very aesthetically pleasing snowfall, nothing slushy or grainy about it at all. Hopefully it is now slowing & pivoting as enjoying watching it fall.

Think Northamptonshire likely the sweet spot, poss into Leicestershire also. Met office now showing snow till 11am for Birmingham/West Mids, possibly a few flurries later this afternoon/evening also.

Heavy snow shower currently, starting to settle. Disappointed by the downgrade for tomorrow, hopefully we’ll see it adjusted a bit more north again.

Yes that’s the batch I mentioned in the post previous to yours, think N Brum could be in business if it holds together, poss bit further south also. 80% chance of snow tomorrow for my locale.

Wondering if that batch of activity to the SW of the main Stoke-Staff-N Leics streamer, currently moving towards Oswestry/Shrewsbury, could clip S Brum??

Yes looks like the streamer is moving more ESE now rather than SSE, so think areas like Leicester may miss out now.
