  1. Hmm, conditions just right for weak storms in my area at the mo but nothing but rain as of yet. Tomorrow looks just as good as today so heres hoping though not expecting much.
  2. Friday is looking like a good day for those of you in the south east as well.
  3. Was probably just a big vehicle going past, if it was a ground tremmor then it was a very weak one.
  4. Was at the shop just now when the ground shook and I heard a rumbling noise, couldnt tell if it was thunder from inside but that sky looks very ominous. Does feel very humid and sticky out to say it is only 16 degrees celcius.
  5. Very very dark clouds to my north west, doesnt look like much on the radar though.
  6. I think we'll have to wait until this band of rain moves through before we see the best of any convective activity, once the sun gets going with the air so unstable..
  7. Just out of interest, if I book a hotel or stay with a friend in a more likely to be hit part of the country next outbreak then can I leave this club or is that classed as cheating?
  8. Hmmm, a further predominantly northerly airflow for the forseeable future and they have been the feature even through the warm phases, does this worry anyone else? As for my area at least that does not bode well for storms this year even if it is predominantly anticyclonic and hot (which I think it will be) as all we will see are repeat performances of todays events every breakdown where everything is blown east - south east.
  9. Havent seen a storm for 2 years now given the crap summers we have been having, looks like June isn't shaping up too well as temperatures following this event look crap for convective development.
  10. Well this event has turned in to a big disappointment for the north west, just a damp squib without so much as a rumble.
  11. Low cin good, resulting sheet cloud side effect bad..
  12. Looking at the last 24 hours strikes its as if all the lightning switched off when it passed over my area and then switched on again afterwards.. Still, I have my eye on that development over wales.
  13. A handfull have been detected in that rain band approaching my area over the last hour but I also have not seen or heard anything, yet..
  14. Indeed. Light rain starting to fall now though I like tracking big summer storms when events like this happen far from home proper armchair style, makes me feel kinda cozy reading all the testemonies, seeing all the films and such!
  15. Looks like Grimsby is in the firing line after Leicster and Nottingham so anyone out camping there tonight may get an unpleasant surprise.
  16. I'm not sure what the best is but our own strikestar detector (now 2 mins update for the time being) on the netweather extra lite package is the one I've always used along with the radar and it has never failed me.
  17. Aye, your area is gonna get pummled at any moment judging by the latest radar.
  18. Damn headache weather.. Thinking about taking a fist full of ibuprofen but not sure thats wise after this many gin and tonics.
  19. Strike detected in the forming rain bands near me, hmm..
  20. Aye, that area over north france near the isle of wight might be worth keeping an eye on.
  21. Same, I'd say there isn't yet enough ground heating and instability to produce a full blown mcs though smaller squall lines might be possible. If you are in the Leicster and Nottingham areas though, hold on to your hats!
  22. Worth keeping your eyes open as the night draws in down there as the cape and lifted values are looking quite good where the development is currently happening.
  23. That tiny red blob has been just east of my postcode zoom for hours now, it must be an anaprop. That developing area of rain to the south must be real though I don't expect much to come of it, should do the gardens some good though.
