  1. I remember several falls of snow in the 80s and 90s in Norfolk and after I left Norfolk in 1996 there were a number of heavy falls (the result of northerly winds, frequent showers) that got to about Wymondham and then fizzled out during the 2000s when it was practically completely snowless in inland 'East Anglia'. You are just going through a bit of a drought of late (I know 09/10 and 10/11 were not as good as here for instance).

Well this snowwatch has been fun - heres to the next one -may be a few wintry showers tonight/this weekend but goodness knows when the next snow event will be, no sign on any models - so maybe mid Jan earliest?

    Spoke to soon

Its snowing now, not lying though

  2. Frozen windscreen this mornin on the car here in Norwich. just seen a picture from friend in Grantown-on-spey in the carngorms. -4.5 on way into work.

    The cold is coming.

I do a lot of wildfowling, and the geese have started to arrive in droves now, more than i have seen in previous years (including last year) Judging by the northern hemisphere snow thread you can see why, the cold is getting further and further west.

Another note, I add most major cities from west to east on my iphone weather app. I have been monitoring them for the last 3 weeks and all i can see is, its getting colder by the day and coming further and further westwards. i don't care what the models show, its getting colder as it should do in winter and judging by the amount of wildfowl heading over to us its getting pretty grim out east and its getting closer.

    Just my 2 pence

  3. I remember the snow of 86, I was four and the snow was up to my waist here in norwich. Ive got a picture somewhere of the snow above my waiste. My parents had to put binbags on my legs because the snow came over my wellies. I also remember 1 meter long icicles and thick as your arm hanging off the roof of the local shop. What a snow event that was, never seen any thing like it since. Can anyone link a chart to this snow event in the east that year?

  4. Well I have some very good news for those in Norfolk. I knew about this earlier this morning but i've been waiting for future model output to continue with this and thankfully thats the case.

So far I think we all agree Norfolk has had some shockingly bad luck and yet ironically Norfolk looks to be the only place that could technically have a white xmas.

Don't blame me if it doesn't happen but at the moment this is what the models are suggesting.

Although that does give me some hope, going from previous luck we have had im not holding my breath lol

    Merry Christmas All
