Yep it was heavy snow in braintree but now its gone lighter snow pellets and looks abit sleety. Theres a light dusting on the grass though.# ***edit*** Just turned to snow again.

Are we expecting any reasonable snow cover today?

arggh we seem to be just 6 miles to far north as everything is missing us in braintree. Must of got just another 1cm and places further south like witham get plastered!!.

I wouldn't worry too much as all it takes is a wiff of snow in braintree to close the schools.

well it looks like braintree in essex is going to just miss out on the main part but 6 miles further south in witham and chelmsford should get the 5-6 inches of snow.

If you looked at the model section tonight then you would have noticed an incredible ECM model run!!!..... Which was also almost a MILD outlier!!!!!!!!

O well looks like i'll miss out on the good stuff in essex tonight.... Enjoy the snow in SE you lucky people.

Its not the "models" that have downgraded slightly its just 1 model and thats the GFS which since its upgrade it has been acting funny. I would pay more atttention to the ECM and the METO for the coming week to be honest and start getting worried if they start downgrading.

Typical I missed it!. Did they happen to include essex in the effected regions as i hear lots of posts about kent and Northeast anglia but nothing much about essex over the next few days.

Which set of charts are you going by?. Would the latest ECM charts bring snow for Essex and london?.
