Just had a storm for about an hour here, regular lightning, thunder not really that close. Didn't spot any CGs either. All is quiet once again ...

Just switched off pc and unplugged for past hour as it came in quite close complete with mostly cloud to cloud strikes. It appears to have disappeared east now. There wasn't much rain at all, barely enough to soak the ground.

The thunder has got a lot more frequent here, although still distant. Theres a near constant deep rumbling coming from the south (Dover, Folkstone direction) and looks darkest from west to south and seems to be moving North East (slowly) Haven't seen any lightning yet though ...

I was right! Walked to the bus stop in the nastiest sharpest storm the heavens could have thrown at me. Soaked through and scared out of my wits by the time that bus came! Where I work over in Broadstairs; we've suffered 3 power cuts today and near continuous thunder and lightning until around 3pm. The lower wispy bits of cloud were swirling around in the opposite direction to that the storm was travelling in which was somewhat worrying as the last time I saw that kind of thing last year a very weak funnel formed. It's cleared up nicely now but does look threatening out over the North Sea still.

Died down here for the time being in Thanet but just had a text from my friend stating that there is "One hell of a storm" in Canterbury. Guess what appears to be heading this way. I gotta venture out and go to work too - hate doing that in storms!

It's been thundering up here in Thanet for a good hour now. Seems to be towards Margate and out into the north sea, stretching inland towards Canterbury from what my mate has just told me. Theres a few forks of lightning in this thing too - a few too many for my liking hehe. So much for the much needed extra hour in bed!!! Jamie

We had a flash of lightning and a hefty rumble of thunder down here in Rye, East Sussex about 15 minutes ago from a rather unassuming looking cloud!
