Flying ants may be hatching but I have not seen any thrips (thunder bugs) this year!

Hmmm, got to say forecast Skew T's for tomorrow are not particulary encouraging:

Coast I think you have gone too early, 2100 and 0000 would be closer to the mark. Although the 1800s do show a nice thick layer of upper level cloud.

Well I have given up speculating a long time ago. I will be chasing tomorrow but will wait to see what pans out. Lets hope it is a good one!

Tilly and Harry great images, well done.
The lightning on Monday whilst I was up in Warwickshire was single pulse lightning so although the camera was shooting I had too much shutter lag. I wish it was pulse lightning then I should have got some good shoot.

Cheers Harry. I left Oxford way too early yesterday. Hopefully some more stuff will come up from France.Good luck Adi F...was an a amazing night last night!! Am hoping for maybe something similar tonight those cells over N France at the moment may make a close pass. Then it's eyes down for later this evening and hopefully it unfolds in a positive way.

Some cells starting to pop up to the west of me

The question is how strong is the cap. I don't have access to skew-t here. Not real skew-t

I would put a substantial amount of money on that Cell near Caen being a Right Moving Supercell. Looks like it on Radar!Lucky Beggars, bet the structure on that thing is absolutely breath-taking

I am not complaining Harry. I just want to know if anything has started to happen north of Oxford yet?

I will be chasing. I originally planned to head for Bristol and see what was happening but I think I will head straight to Banbury and see what happens. I will look again in the morning but thats the plan for now. I have got the hammock in the car so I can kip practically anywhere if need be.

Is anyone chasing over the next couple of days?
-
I have not seen charts like that for a long time.

There is more convection here than I have seen all week. Still wont come to much though.

Had I gone to the states and saw something like Germany/Denmark saw last night I would have been happy. Utopian situation for me is not necessarily tornadoes, it's the lightning shows from afar for photography. I'd happy take a few days off work and chase into Europe if I knew something last night was coming. I'm in Pompey, who'd be with me...?
I am in Germany next month working but the storms will be in the UK
