According to the meto radar and raintoday, it is right over bracknell now... but nothing at all is falling from the sky! what is going on?

Still 2.2c here according to weather station website I use... DP 0.7c which is a drop of 0.2c in the last 40 mins ish...

2.1c here with DP of 0.9c Still plenty of snow lying but have definately had a lot thaw today. I usually post on South West and South Central - they are having great fun over there announcing their snow arrivals! Anyone know whether Bracknell Forest is likely to get any? I am thinking probably not but if anyone has any contradictory info, i'd love to hear it! Cheers

Happy to report that I am at home with the kids and have no intention of leaving the house! Feel very sorry for people who have to deal with snow/freezing rain in rush hour :/ Wind here is NE already....

1.9c here so not quite what netweather says (-4c) so I suspect their suggestion of 70% chance snow 6pm onwards is dubious too... Course, that is assuming the weather station page I use is correct - never occurred to me until now that it mightn't be! http://www.weatherfamily.org/bracknell/wxhome.html Anybody out there able to give me some hope for more proper snow later in my area? We still have a lot lying but the thaw is evident on roads. I'm not going to cry if we don't get any. We had a good amount and the kids were able to make full use of it with sledges at the weekend.

Two days out sledging! Brilliant fun! We had a further 2cm (? ish) today. Snowed lightly all day and still snowing now, albeit very fine snow. I am hoping that the school will be closed tomorrow, but our school staff are determined b*ggars and rarely admit defeat so I am praying for a miracle really. It would be awesome to go for the sledging hat trick Temp got as warm as 0.3c today. We are back into minus figures now (-0.2c) so that's good

Snowing again here! Not only that but looked at the netweather snow risk forecast and it is giving me 80% likelihood of snow at some point every day up to wednesday! Mental!

It has stopped here now. It began snowing at 8am and hasn't stopped all day, until now, and we have 15cm

Woke up to absolutely nothing at all and two very disappointed children.... Then at 8am the heavens opened and it hasn't stopped since! We have an inch at the moment (nipped out of the office with my ruler much to the amusement of my colleagues!) Plenty of morons on the road to make driving a hazard. Driving too fast, too close together and with no lights Coming down thick and fast - think I will go home in a minute.

OK OK OK I am resigned to the fact I will be taking the kids to school and going to work tomorrow No doubt the snowfall will increase throughout the day, but my hopes and dreams of a lie in are doomed now. Absolutely not a single flake now after a promising afternoon and evening of light snowfall It's gonna be a struggle when the alarm goes off tomorrow

Are you me? Once asleep i am virtually in a coma and preferably would crack open a bottle rather than head to bed! Esp when this epic weather is about to hit us! No! not a teacher at all! Just would rather my kids were at home tomorrow to enjoy the snow, and that would give me the day off work! I don't usually work Fridays and don't have to, but said I would... I can take the kids with me if needs be, but a proper snow day would be perfect!

Wish there were more like you! Our teachers are stubborn buggars and will turn up come hell or high water :/ We would all love a snow day so the more teachers that can't get in, the better!

Not just me then! I am on No2 too and I am doomed if this event doesn't happen! I don't 'have' to go to work tomorrow but said I would (self emp) and I hate letting people down so I am really hoping to wake up to knee deep snow, school closed and blizzards! I really miss those blizzards we had as kids It's just not the same nowadays

Welcome back SSIB So, so sorry to go off topic but following on from the horseplay earlier, I'm feeling mischievious and I had to post this In order to stay on topic - the snow here stopped for a bit but is floating down again - not a lot ..... dammit - just checked and it stopped again

Holy heck! I remember that. It was before I bothered with weather stuff and popped into town which is a 5 minute drive... took me nearly 3 hours to get home. Cars were abandoned by the side of the road. The police were out having snowball fights (I was stuck in traffic by the police station) and they were talking to all the drivers telling us that if we lived nearby then we would be better to leave the car and walk. I had a full tank of petrol, snacks and drinks in the car and was passing cigs to the distraught people next to me who were running on fumes!... but whilst I still had fuel, no chance was I gonna walk! I sat behind a mondeo who couldn't get up the hill by the station and people were throwing grit under his tyres as he tried... I stayed well back... My turn came and I made it in one Women drivers eh? I gave a cheeky wink to the men who had been throwing grit under the mondeos tyres and off I went Smug? Moi?
