    Hi all! Beautiful day today. Cycled with the Hubbie and daughter from Leigh on Sea to east Beach Shoebury and back, stopping off for a roast in Leigh on the way back. Sore bum, but very pleased with myself!

    It's not too impressive - one flash, two rumbles and the sky is clearing. Don't get too excited will you? Edit : I'm in Thurrock, not too far from the Dartford Crossing. Ooh, another low rumble as I speak!

    Just got home from a morning's hard work with sweaty, tired and grumpy three year olds. Cooler it may be, fresher it ain't!!

    Morning everyone. What an awful night for sleeping. Temperature on the rise again now at 22.1 degrees and humidity fallen to 65%.

    Temperature still seems to be rising here at 32.2! spent a pleasant few hours at Lakeside and nearly got knocked off my feet by the heat when I came out. Not a great lover of heat myself but I am interested in seeing weather records get broken. Edit: now 33.1. Can this be right at 7pm?

    Whereabouts are you? I'm in South Ockendon. it certainly feels ready to go bang here, and apparently there are rumbles in Basildon.

    Hi everyone! don't know how strong the wind got in the night but I can vouch for the local chaos still ongoing due to the bridge being shut! also my thoughts are with the families made homeless round the corner. I have heard the wind may increase again. anyone know if this is true?

    Hi Leigh. Just got back from a chilly walk to the shops. looking quite frosty now out there and very chilly. I like it though.

    and just over the river in South Essex we have green grass and brown roofs. quite disappointing so far really, but it feels freezing.

    not an expert but GFS 12z looks promising for our area on Thursday perhaps?

    Not all of Essex - Thurrock for example.... barely a flake, although yesterday morning on the way to work there were cars streaming off the A127 covered in snow.
