    A couple of heavy showers with hail here over the last hour, appeared more or less out of nowhere on the radar - only one flash of lightning though (about an hour ago). More stuff building up to the NW now.

    It's odd people in Stockport are seeing rain. It's still snowing here, although it's got sleety pellets in it now.

    Quite large flakes coming down now in Sale, has been sticking to roofs and pavements for 15 mins plus

    A few very fine flakes blowing around in the wind, nothing more than that yet. No rain, though.

    Lightning a few miles to the east of here at the moment. It started about 20 mins ago to the north-east, then another cell formed in the wake of the first one. Heading towards Manchester city centre. This makes four days in succession with thunder here!

    Brief thunder and lightning away to the north about half an hour ago from a cell that waited until it had passed over before delivering anything electrical. Typical.

    Distant lightning to the west of here about 15 mins ago but it's died out now. Still very dark in that direction.

    Still no sign of anything round here, there were quite a few mid-sized cumulus around earlier but they're rapidly decaying under a thick sheet of Ac. However it looks as though that feature over Somerset/Dorset might hit the North West not long after sunset...
