I don’t have access to cloud cover forecast for tomorrow afternoon, can anyone provide this? BBC are showing cloud cover for the majority of the day towards London so I’m assuming temperatures will be suppressed widely.

Moderate snow in Hemel. Metoffice showing heavy snow all afternoon however the precipitation to the west surely isn’t going to travel east over my direction is it?
-
A few flakes coming down in Hemel Hempstead now. I’ve no idea what expect from this tonight, if anything

Light to moderate snow in Hemel Hempstead currently after heavy rain earlier!

What’s happened to tomorrow? Both BBC and MetO Forecast have completely downgraded tomorrow’s snow in Watford. The GFS 06Z still shows precipitation around...
The MetO shows no snow at all now!

Will there be any lightning associated with this 'storm'? Or do we need different ingredients for lightning to occur...

Looking a little forward to this actually as I wasnt around to see the 1987 storm, although I do hope theres no casualties. Hopefully the Watford game in Brighton will still go ahead Monday night as well though !
-
Although the 06Z might not be showing temperatures as high as they were showing on previous output for Thursday/Friday, I still believe it is a good run as the warm/hot temperatures are maintained for the Central Belt of the UK, as well as the SE until Monday - with temperatures at or above 25C Thursday onwards.
Hot for most of England, and Wales, with Scotland and Ireland remaining on the cooler side.
The heat then dies away for areas further to the west, with areas further to the East hanging onto the warm temperatures. Sunday is similar with maxes of 25c for areas further to the East.
By Monday, the +10 850hpa temp starts build again from the SE, producing higher temperatures on a more broader scale Monday, but still with Ireland, Scotland and the NW missing out:
All in all, I am happy with that run. Temperatures are not too hot, but comfortable to be able to do things in, perfect. Not a bad Summer if it carries on this way!

Wow, lightning just outside my window, massive rumble too!! Beats last week already...
-
ohh thunder and lightning only one though
Same here!

Hi guys, I don't like to be the one to ask - but any chance I'll see a Thunderstorm tonight? Missed out last week, hoping for something tonight!!
-
Right, Im going to sleep. I guess if anything major happens it will wake me up. And also be careful Harry - sounds like you have a hell of a storm with you!!
-
Mesoscale you think that we'll get anything decent tonight? Watching out the window, only seeing a few flashes...
-
Seeing a few flashes whilst looking out of window in bed I think, no thunder though. Should I go to sleep, will there more of a chance of seeing storms in the morning?
-
Is anyone else having trouble with flying ants? Im sitting in the garden right now and I've never seen so many. They are everywhere and keep landing on me! Also it just turned a little cloudy before - but the sun is out again, hopefully some storms later...
-
Was woken up this morning from some very heavy rain which I didn't expect. I was hoping I may get some thunder with it too, but no luck! I'm not good at reading the CAPE charts but I see some low-ish figures around me during parts of today and tomorrow, does this mean I am guaranteed a storm?
-
Nice picture of Weymouth there, I love the place - wish I was there for that storm right now, must be exciting!!

Hello All !
It's very cloudy here at the moment and it doesn't look as if that's going to change soon from looking out of the window. Very dull and boring this is.
-
I just looked at the latest GFS and I'm left wondering whether the GFS is overcooking temps or BBC are undercooking for Sunday. Sunday on the BBC only has 24C for London but GFS showing 28 - 29, I wonder which will be more likely!
-
If temperatures reach mid 30's during the day, what is the nightime low going to be - something like 25C!? Wow, next weeks prospects look extreme, and I like it.
+15 uppers nearly over half of the UK @ 147!!
And is still there @ 192, of which is at the end of high res...
Lets see if this trend continues, another week to go yet.

No worries laserguy, I just read your post in the wrong manner it seems! I do agree though that the heat would be annoying if I was stuck indoors all week but I would still prefer it to rain...Please accept my sincere apologies - was meant more tongue-in-cheek than anything.... though you you gotta admit that, even for those who like this weather,it's no good unless you've time to enjoy it. If not, it's just a pain and nuisance!

This is what I was thinking. Clear blue skies here when it’s been predicted cloud the past few days for most of the day.
Id be interested to see what the charts showed for cloud clover yesterday, for today for comparison.
