  1. getting going again here after a bit of a lull. i could even see the mountain for a few minutes. no more though.
  2. the only two other ways out are Cymmer and Bryn CLOSED! this is a second hand rumour though, via a friend of the wife's, so it's subject to further non gossipy type confirmation.
  3. apparantley, just heard road by the Paper Mill is closed, which in effect, means Maesteg is now CLOSED!
  4. oh well. no Sky for me. dish 9 foot up, caked in icy snow. a brush can't sweep it off, it's that hard. freeview it is then.
  5. it keeps escalating. i've been out for a few walks, but that is not really a good idea any more
  6. think of it like two prop forwards running at top speed (for them anyway) at each other, and hitting each other head on we're underneath it, getting all the teeth
  7. this won't really get going until i see the swirling of drifting snow on the ground. once that starts, it's on. at the moment, it's looking like work though. nightmare. try telling bosses that though.
  8. Temps need to drop a little bit for it to REALLY get going. just been out in it. Slushmageddon at the moment
  9. throwing it down here. struggling to stick, but it IS sticking now
  10. oh well. better go to bed JUST in case... i've been fooled before! lol
  11. yep no snow forecast on the 18z for there yet. they were supposed to get it roughly same time as us. cold air is there already.
  12. torn between going to bed for 'work', and staying up watching the fun.
  13. blowing well out there just did a rough count on the precip chart, and I could see 28 cms of snow by the time this is finished, blowing around. wild.
  14. i'm quite suspicious of these downgrading charts tbh i remember 78 and 82 they said they would be nothing too....
  15. isn't this a forum about the 12z onwards charts? I saw the charts earlier, and they were quite scary. A week of cold temps, and several snow events, but the latest charts have downplayed it now, thankfully. Last thing we want is an early 80s type event. Well it's the last thing I want, anyway. It could always go back the other way though, and snowmageddon could happen.
  16. as does Wednesday/Thursday it's a weather forum, so I was discussing the weather.
  17. Monday's snow event looking much weaker for us on the current run
  18. snow line definitely more west on the latest run by my reckoning, Cardiff is in for about 24-27 hours of snow
  19. Anyone else getting that 79/82 feeling? Didn't both of them start on a Thurs/Fri and end on a Sunday?
  20. Hi everyone. don't normally post in Summer because I keep an eye on the snow normally, and NW goes into storage for the summer, but I was watching the start of the eruption on Saturday on a live webcam, and captured these screenshots, which I then made a pretty spectacular gif out of.. Eruption Gif although it looks awesome, and scary, it actually took the cloud nearly two hours to reach the cam, which is around 40-50 miles from the eruption. Just thought I'd share with you.
