  1. it'll have to snow for 4 days, with only a few breaks, for it to be anywhere near 82. some places will match it though, like Pontypridd, cos there's a poster here saying he's getting close to 50 cms. if we ALL get close to that, it'll be 82 like. if not, still epic.
  2. full on blizzard here now in Maesteg. epic stuff.
  3. nah. coming right at us. I'm watching the v7 radar. seems to be pepping up to the south as well.
  4. nah, this is the bobsleigh, and the driver just fell out look out below!
  5. i'm sure the mountain is pepping up Maesteg's snow. looking at the v7 radar just now, it was light pink, and now, just north of tondu all the way to me, it is dark pink. sorry DS!
  6. here's 3 images of Bridgend Road (one of our two main roads) in Maesteg just now. the one with the van in was wild. scary even. wind whipped up and it was an almighty maelstrom of snow all around me. WILD!
  7. it's wild up in the land of the daft just to your north mate. amazed you're not getting the same. must be the mountain?
  8. on the NW extra radar i reckon it is strengthening well. where there were blues all around me in Maesteg a short while ago, now there are greens, it seems to be pepping up all around me here
  9. The Great St David's Day Storm, you mean?
  10. honestly. do a screen cap of two hours ago and now on NW radar, and tell me anywhere west of Cardiff is a bust. I'd post them if i didn't think I'd get a row for doing so. lol points west of swansea are about to be hammered, as are points east. if anything me here in Maesteg might miss out slightly in comparison, smack in the middle of those two blobs, but i am very happy so far with what is falling, and will fall. i think the hills around here will play a role too and pep up things.chill out everyone, this is an epic event.
  11. so much for Ireland getting it all. looking at NW radar, Wales is the bullseye
  12. this is a GENERAL event though. it is affecting EVERYONE in a large area. this hasn't happened on a large scale like this since the early 80s, and i just KNEW it would catch people out, as did Andy Music this event will be talked about for years, in the same breath as 47,63,78 and 82 in S Wales. I have been TRYING to warn people about this, only to be met with pitying stares, knowing nods and smiles, and outright LAUGHTER when I said this event has the potential, at least, to KILL people. Laughing now Steve? hmmm? oh well....
  13. had no problems, all day.main roads were clear, road salt doing a remarkable job. minus 7 over the Bwlch, just before they closed it at 12pm, roads were clear, with PUDDLES of water, at minus 7! Amazing. managed to finish the run, then, just as I was approaching home, on Bridgend Road in Maesteg, everything SUDDENLY started getting covered, and just about made it to outside my home. Close run thing it was. haven't seen scenes like this since 82, and I am now expecting something similar. Drifts climbing slowly in the alley by my home, wind blowing wildly.
  14. well, you were the one who started with the sarky comments, i just thought i'd keep it ticking along, matey boy
  15. shelves do get filled daily you know? get up there, and re empty them.
  16. shelves are gonna empty rapidly today I reckon, dont get caught out!
  17. that result in about 5 foot drifts i reckon, minimum
  18. is a thaw setting in straight after it, or is the cold hanging on, with more events? edit - need to know cos i'm debating getting another gas bottle for the stand alone gas fire.
