    The problem is a lot of us older ones remember only too well being reassured the coming blizzards back in the early 80s were nothing to be worried about, only to realise we didn't have enough milk, bread, candles etc etc when the drifts were up to our bedroom windows it's a lack of trust in those supposedly in the know, for some reason. *cough* can't blame people for being cautious

    dilemma got a bad feeling about this weather, and I have no ale in the house, and Asda is 3 quarters of a mile away. oh well WALKIES! edit - Sod it. gave up after 2 hundred yards. coffee will do for tonight. I'll see if I'm feeling more up for it tomorrow. probably all be gone by then.

    all i'm saying is it FEELS like back then to me. I haven't seen the things going on now since then. Normally we have a snowfall, and it thaws away. that hasn't happened this time. the icicles, the wind, the FEEL of it, know what I mean? Perhaps I'm miles out, but i think we might just see something out of the ordinary when this event is all said and done.

    lot of bunching up of showers going on in the channel. is something developing out there? this is only day one

    i think they've basically admitted they're flying by the seat of their pants, and the models up to a week are pretty much worthless in this situation anything could happen
