Hi Crazy, remind me whereabouts in Ockendon you are? Quite a few rumbles now and a few spots of rain! So oppressive too! My goosebumps are going crazy!
Just south of Daiglen Drive traffic lights
-
Oh nice roll of thunder here!

Little more than distant rumbles since earlier posting, no lightning seen, but lots of virga to my NE, seems to be slowly trundling away in that direction. I can see a tower to my SE. Temp is 27C, humidity at 58%. Very oppressive despite the rain overnight.

Rumble of thunder here in South Ockendon, Essex, just north of the river at the Dartford crossing
-
The heat melted them!

Back in the 70s, I’m sure we were advised not to jump in the sea! I think a few heart attacks were reported. Certainly gave me a shock when I jumped in the sea at Scratby, Norfolk after a steamy journey in scorching temps and a car with a broken thermostat which was remedied by having the heater on!

For some reason I’m thinking Petworth Park would be a good spot today...
Better get going then, it shuts at 4pm

Well, we eventually got the thunder and rain! One boom was so loud it’s vibration activated my Apple Watch that was on the bedside cabinet. Such a tiny glow amid a spectacular display of nature’s power.
-
The lightning is intensifying again, but still no rain nor thunder.
-
Don’t have radar, but it looks like more coming in south east of me. I’m in Thurrock
-
Super light show, no rain, nor much in the wa of thunder tho!

My hubbie took the easy way out today and decided not to squeeze himself onto a packed train. His motorbike was out of the question too!
Lol, mine takes the bus, they don’t appear to give in to the weather quite a readily as the trains. My bro is a biker, has a Hyabusa or something, strictly for summer bimbles only!

Just been talking to my husband in Barking,he said that where the snow hasn’t disappeared, it has rapidly turned to ice making untreated surfaces quite dodgy!
-
Oh wow, when it eventually happens, ain’t it just beautiful?

Do I sit with the Glums in the other thread or be ever hopeful in this one?

Kent County Council have issued a "Snow Emergency" according to BBC News!

Does that mean I’m Nocto-Brontophobic, as thunder and lightning only truly scare me at night?
But the current one is providing some much needed refreshment, albeit flooding local roads!
