  1. Was going to flog the ol Subaru all wheel drive, for miserly puddle jumper but sod it we're through the MOT a few weeks ago, spring might be a better time to part with the ol Forester amazing machines in the snow and I have a feeling that's going to come in handy this winter, what do you think stick or twist.
  2. Lovely Day here but I've got a decision to make re a new car, had a 4wd Suburu last few years amazing in snow conditions whats the thoughts on what kind of winter we face this year. Last winter was a joke previous two were the real deal now I do a fair old mileage but don't know whether to go down the 60-70-80 mpg puddle jumper route or stick with petrol guzzling 4wd.
  3. About an inch just outside Fort William. Yabbadabadoo for the Subaru in the morning.
  4. Well if thats February out the way the Subaru has been complete overkill, last two winters it was a godsend this winter its been thirsty overkill. Hardly any snow worth mentioning this year in the Fort.
  5. I am off to Glasgow from Fort William tomorrow will return late tomorrow night leaving Glasgow about midnight, anyone care to predict what kind of snow events coming for this route. The old Subaru will come into its own, no doubt.
  6. Ah Vasectomies, when I went under the knife,I was up second on the day, in the ward prior to surgery starting they wheeled away the first victim who was up first, we knew each other and we realised we were in for the same op, so I shouted over to him as he left the ward "I'm up next, so away and get his eye in", back came the reply "Aye at least I'm going in while the knifes still sharp".
  7. Just outside the Fort its 1C and starry with a wee drop of frost,
  8. In Govan its gone from 15 all the way down to minus 2, currently.
  9. Its been an orrible day in the Fort, but Merry Xmas to one and all.
  10. Just outside the Fort its 10c windy and pishing down not in the least bit seasonal, going to Inversnechie tomorrow chance of snow on the way back but will take the two wheel drive.
  11. Glad I had a Subaru yesterday morning roads were just like a bottle, neighbours could not get out onto trunk road network, gritting has been cut right back.
  12. Got up this morning at 6.30am think we'd had that freezing rain malarkey, everything and I mean everything was covered with a frozen skin of ice with the texture of roughcast. Side roads were like a bottle, main roads were alright where they had been gritted, in places they had been carpet bombed. Where I live no two wheel drive vehicle had a hope in hell of getting to the main road, in fact it was struggle to just walk to the Subaru. 30 mins ago it was 0.5c and a wee flurry of snow.
  13. -1c and snowing in Fort William, sky looks pretty heavy as well, I have got to take someone home to Spean Bridge later as well 9 miles in land.
