The precipitation is not far away from me now. I feel it will be a sleety mess here so I may have to take a wee trip to Eaglesham again tomorrow so the kids can get their snow fix
-
Just back from a nice winter walk at the Whitelee Wind Farm which is only a 10 min drive from my house

Good luck to everyone, I love the anticipation of what could happen. Hopefully this forum keeps busy with pictures and reports of snow over the next few months. After what has been a tough year for us all we deserve a decent memorable snow event

Fantastic post LS, these kind of posts should be pinned at the top of the forum incase anyone missed it

I start work tomorrow at 8am, if the Met office forecast is correct then I may struggle getting to East Kilbride

Merry Christmas everyone! Just reading though some fantastic posts on this forum, I really need to get back to posting more regularly

Good to see some interesting charts, let’s hope it continues. I want some snow

Awesome pictures, just a small covering here. Hopefully this is a sign of a nice snowy winter ahead

A nice wee dusting of snow this morning. The roads are pretty lethal with the ice. I was lucky enough to capture a flash of lightning on my dash cam on the way home from work last night. Hopefully this is a sign of a decent winter

Same here, just saw big flash of lightning on the way home from work, heavy hail here now Nice start to winter

Hi all, I hope everyone is well. I have not been checking the weather for a while as it’s been pretty boring the last couple of months. Chance of snow here in East Kilbride later, so that’s got me a wee bit excited

Finally managed to upload some clips of the thunderstorm from a couple of weeks ago. No sound with the video as you couldn’t hear the thunder because of the intense rainfall hitting my car.

Nice videos @Kirkcaldy Weather I am currently going through all the clips that I got from the storm and editing them then putting them into a video The visibility was poor as I was stuck in my car. I planned to move away from the storm and get some shots with my tripod but I got stuck in the village I was in for a few hours due to the flooding

Stuck in work tonight @Mr Frost so no chance Very sad news about the rail accident

Unbelievable storm in Fife last night, constant thunder and lightning with hail and rain like I have never seen before. Flooding was a major problem and I got stuck for a few hours due to impassable roads. -
Yes @Ross B, but only just, what a night As others have said, a very unbelievable storm. I have never witnessed anything like it. Constant lightning and booming thunder . The rain and sometimes hail was unreal. I got stuck in the village I was at for a few hours as the road at each end of the place was flooded and impassable. The storm was directly above me so I didn’t manage to capture much of the lightning for a decent photograph. I recorded some video footage also which I will have to go through when I have the time. I couldn’t believe how heavy the rain was, the streets were like rivers with lots of debris across the roads. After about 2 hours me and some other cars managed to get through the flooded road. I hope there is not much damage to people’s property this morning. It was a very fun exciting evening with all the thunder and lightning but I most admit I was pretty scared when I seen the flooding.

Haha My Mrs said I have a serious problem if I want to drive for miles just to see as she called it “a stupid bit of lightning”
-
I was thinking about it as I am off work tonight but it will probably be a waste of time I will wait and see what happens later

Does anyone know if the Edinburgh or Fife area will see anything after sunset?
