  1. Damp start here, nothing falling from the sky yet. 10 minutes up the road though snow is falling on higher parts of the M77
  2. I am no expert, thankfully @LomondSnowstorm has answered your question What I do know though is that there is no raging Atlantic in the near future and things are turning colder with snow potential increasing for many members at lower levels. Lots of interesting weather coming up, I am sure this thread will be busy over the next couple of weeks
  3. I am pretty confident that I will see some decent snowfall at work this week. My workplace sits at 210m. The likes of Eaglesham and Neilston should do well also which is only a 5-10 min drive away so if no snow falls in Barrhead I can take the kids there to play and go sledging. I am very lucky to have higher areas close by with lots of great hills for sledging and walking
  4. The 6z only shows mild air south of the border, parts of Scotland will be buried if the 6z was to be correct. It all depends on the position of the low. Exciting times for all of us with plenty of snow potential
  5. Great 18z! Hopefully you guys down south will be building snowmen soon enough ️
  6. Just back from a beautiful walk around the local countryside. I hope to see this area covered in snow over the next week or so
  7. Yes definitely! We usually do well In these kind of setups. Before all that all eyes are on tomorrow and the rest of the week for some good snow potential Met office update looks promising
  8. Eastern Scotland members taking their dugs for a walk next week...
  9. Good to see the charts have not backtracked this morning. Exciting model watching over the next few days to see where we end up. Hopefully a big juicy easterly with the North Sea snow machine firing up and bringing plenty of heavy snow showers and streamers pushing across all of Scotland Before all that we should keep an eye on Tuesday with the possibility of a snow event. Obviously it will be marginal again and thats if the precipitation gets this far north but at least the possibility is there and something to keep an eye on.
  10. A good bit of snow near Eaglesham while on my way to work.
  11. A slight covering of snow here this morning, nothing to what it’s like in East Kilbride though. Looks very interesting as we head into February as you can see from the post by @Kirkcaldy Weather
  12. I was letting the cat outside just before I went to bed and opened the door to be surprised by heavy snow It didn’t last long but it has left a nice wee dusting making everything look nice and wintry once again I checked the radar and one of those showers finally made it to here without fading away.
  13. It’s very annoying watching those showers die out as they push towards the west coast.
  14. Yeah looks like they are dying off as they move closer.
  15. Yes just checked the radar, looks as though those showers are heading straight for Ayrshire. Good luck Ayrshire folk
  16. Time to get the popcorn oot and read through all the posts I have missed from 4pm when I started work No snow here tonight but I have had my fair share over the last couple of weeks
  17. No time to check the posts as it busy in work. Not sure what to expect here but hopefully lots of members are getting some snow just now
  18. A tricky drive home from work, never seen one gritter on the way back! Happy to report a covering of snow at home also. I guess it’s another day of sledging and walking in the snow tomorrow after the kids do their online lessons. Very happy with this winter, 3 really good surprise snowfalls over the last 3 weeks
  19. Calm doon everyone! I can’t keep up with the amount of posts I am heading outside soon to the work car park to run about like a wee kid
  20. Still coming down here, hopefully the roads are ok later when I finish work.
  21. Yes I have just arrived and we have sleet here and it looks interesting for later.. Could be an interesting drive home at midnight
  22. I do like the look of the BBC forecast Big upgrade from the Met office forecast for here. Earlier it was showing mostly dry with the odd snowflake. It’s all to play for, I think some of us are in for a nice surprise over the next few days
  23. This is the best way to go about it. I remember a couple of weeks ago it was supposed to be dry here then I had a look at the radar and their was a big blob of precipitation just north of Glasgow then boom a nice covering of snow overnight. It was the same last Thursday when the rain turned to snow overnight. There was also no warnings from the met office until the snow was actually falling from the sky. Anything is possible which is why I love these kind of events. I won’t be disappointed if I miss out as I have already had two good snow events since the beginning of the month. Good luck everyone, I hope this thread is filled with snowy scenes soon
