  1. kicked - will be back in a bit
  2. working fine here - might have been the gfs catching up earlier causing trouble
  3. click local forecast under the map on the right for the 7 day forecast
  4. We believe the downtime this morning was due to external prep work causing a wee overload. Hopefully all goes well tonight and there's not too much superglue and sticky back plastic needed in the morning
  5. the non-stick system is firmly in place - unfortunately it doesnt appear to work under all circumstances yet
  6. sorry for the delay - strange problem that one but all fixed now
  7. i'm going to give the ensembles some tlc next week by writing a more advanced automated kicking system
  8. ok... what happened.... a bug in the forum software caused a complete server overload which left the server requiring a hard reboot. as it was hammering the database at the time the database experienced some minor but very difficult to trace corruptions and did not want to stay up. The database needed to be brought down from time to time for repairs and additional configuration. It actually went down when we were quieter than we have been which is why it's not a capacity related problem just annoying timing. sorry about that but here we've been on this at nights and weekends trying to get the smoothness that we have experienced for years back. unfortunately this does require occasional service restarts
  9. fixed - sorry had incorrect coordinates on the database
  10. sounds weird - when i right click an nw image from the datacentre and click save as it defaults to png which is what you should save images as png is lossless compression so smaller than a bmp and better quality than a jpg. look up irfanview on google as a super little image converter
  11. complete then a bit of a wait for the forecasts
  12. it's come back to life just as i was about to report it
  13. 1. will have to check up on the accumulator - can't remember if it checks by date or just grabs a rolling total in which case those frames may be included 2. the metar report from egdy yeovilton today was: EGDY 281050Z 32005KT 8000 HZ SCT008 OVC012 08/07 Q1013 NOISGthe last word in that code is badly spelt by the issuing station and should be NOSIG the text parser in use couldn't change that to No significant weather and in fact found SG which is the code for Snow Grains... what are the chances of that
  14. cookie- i can't quite remember exactly how it works so drop an email across because that will be dealt with by Paul's brother who's looking after the billing side of things.
  15. Hi all , radr is back up and running - unfortunately we received a file with a bit of crazy data in it.. the images were actually all processed so rewinding would have worked to see the latest image unfortunately the latest time stamp wasn't updating so the main view waasn't refreshed sorry about that secondly the subscriptions don't give you the choice to change at renewal but drop an email to enquiry@netweather.tv and it can be sorted http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons//laugh.gif
  16. scan for viruses and spyware - sounds odd
  17. http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=cet;sess= that's our cet calculation type thing but based off recorded data i'd imagine it might be misleading to calc a cet on only 16 days of forecast data - that time when the temperature shoots up in march april could be quite confusing.. correct if i'm wrong here... maybe something for the cfs
  18. yep the images get displayed as they are created - the gfs is currently up to 120

    Bookworm

Having spent the last 6 months commuting with the joys of Scotrail I have decided to write about books. Now I get through about 2-3 books a week. All taken from the bestseller rack at Tescos so how could I possibly go wrong... Here are some of my findings: 1. Ex Special Forces personnel have a penchant for finding holy relics 2. If you bump into any ex special forces then they are likely to be escorting a pretty young lady in search of said relics. 3. They all carry guns 4. Archeology is plainly dangerous. 5. Chances are the archeologist searching for relics will be targetted by either a secret society intent on keeping said relic a secret or an evil benefactor who wants the relic for himself. 6. Ex Special Forces people are far better at finding relics than professional archeologists and can condense a lifetime of someone's work into around 2 days globetrotting and stumbling on clues. 7. The artefact or relic will have profound implications on any one of the worlds major religions. 8. Roo is very lucky to have survived her chosen career. I'd be suprised if she was not accosted by the Spanish Inquisition at some point in her career and of course... no-one expects the Spanish Inquisition So there we go.. So twice I tried reading books written by ladies The first said it was a murder suspense thriller with a location setting that I'm very familiar with so I thought I'd give it a go... A group of women were living separate lives in a fairly remote town... The first one hunder odd pages went into details about their lives and peculiarities.. But it did liven up at page 136 when the Brennan's decided to host a cocktail party The second book nearly made me cry... On page 84 the lead female thought another female was... and I quote... 'a nincompoop' Now I'm sorry but that word has no place in adult literature. I'll stick to me special forces.
  20. http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=ecm;sess= Enjoy
  21. ta for that - have given them a good old fashioned kick should be back up to date soon
