currently there is plenty of disk capacity on this server as we do our model processing on an alternate box. The slowdown yesterday was resolved by tweaking the webserver configuration so hopefully all should be well today

coming in through www.net-weather.co.uk tends to work better than .com

definitely a thought although bandwidth isn't a major issue for the server - compression might actually be harder work for it.

hmm - odd working fine for me in IE and firefox - can you try clearing your cache in IE - tools - internet options - delete files firefox - tools - options - privacy - clear cache

ok - overlays 'fixed' regions are out for a wee while while i have a think about how best to put them in. f1 is fixed not sure where you're seeing the nottingham stuff menus - opera hmmm - they fully work in firefox and ie - should be fine in opera - i think we're changing them soonish anyway
