Just a dusting here and looks like what was on the radar died. Nothing on the horizon any time soon.

Crazy Hail shower in Prestwick at the mo. Will report if anything over in Darvel shortly. Radar looks quite good to be honest unless what's coming dies before it gets here.

It's hard not to get your hopes up but CMD is probably right here. Nothing I've looked at screams out the need for a Yellow Warning never mind Amber. We'll see

I can't see outside from work but someone confirmed snow at sea level in Prestwick about 1/2 an hour ago. That's a good sign. Now all we need is something to fall from the sky!

Looking at the radar it looked like the showers only appeared once inland which looked a bit strange. I think they are past Darvel now by the looks of it. Fingers crossed some more pops up.

With the tone in her voice when she called I'm pretty sure she would have skipped over that one in her iTunes library this morning!

Wife just phoned to say she was walking to work and resembled Olaf from Frozen. Apparently heavy snow in Darvel then. School is closed due to no heating so looks like I may have to go home early. Maybe we'll get something decent after all. Nothing in Prestwick. Dry as a bone.

A dusting here this morning. More icy than anything on the pavements though. Not expecting anything out of this at all so anything that turns up will be a bonus. Temp was 1.1 Deg when I got up and dew point below freezing. ( Don't know how much as it's the cheepo Aldi/Lidl can't remember which, weather station )

Will wait and see what happens. I too was overly optimistic about the weekend and although we did see some lying snow it was still disappointing. Met-O forecast says snow for during the night tonight so may get a surprise in the morning. Edit:- I'll be steering clear of all GFS Precip Type charts as what they show has very little to no bearing on reality.

Some strong gusts and heavy rain coming through now. Wheelie bin casualties already. When is it likely to peak around east ayrshire? Stay safe everyone.

The A76, A71 and through Crookedholm are all now closed. I'm running out of options on ways to get home without a big detour

Yep, East Ayrshire certainly forked out more on their Snow shield than they did on the flood defences

It's been raining all morning too so I would imagine it will get slightly worse before it gets better. Hopefully your High enough to stay dry!

I saw a photo looking over from The Range over to B&Q and Asda etc. Looking at road signs on the road round the side of Asda. 5ft sounds about right. I take it your in one of the three garages down there?

Fairly steady snow here at the moment. Everything white but can't see it lasting.

Let there be light! Power restored. Now the lamp posts are back on there is nothing to watch. Can't beat central heating though. Edit: just went back off!

A lightning strike has taken out our power since early this afternoon. Just seems to be our estate. Still no snow though. More to the point no lamp post to watch!

I'm in the same boat. However on the plus side it means I might get the car's washed while I'm off on Friday.

Being originally from Killie I am familiar with the snowshield! We normally do OK here though. If it doesn't snow at my level a 10min drive takes me over 300m up to the TV mast. I'm off tomorrow and Friday and the kids are at school so I may have to go on the hunt. Will see what the MetO say later.

Further south than East Ayrshire / South Lanarkshire? Left Darvel 140m it was 4.6 Deg and raining. Arrived Prestwick at sea level and it's 3.5Deg and sleet.
