Gorgeous here too, took the dog up what we call the high path and could snow on what I think is probably the lawyers range.
I know you like Borders, so enjoy the madness.

We had frost this morning with a low of -2.4. Around 6 just now. Cara and grass were all white. Looking forward to more of the same.

Bloody awful day here, horrible wind & rain. Can I ask a stupid question here --- how or where do I find out what direction the wind is from? Down here it's hard to tell as it gusts around between the houses and the tall trees at the back. I don't see wind forecasts on bbc or netweather radar, just rain.

Great post KW. I've been keeping an eye on it all week too. Friday originally looked the worst but it has changed over the last few days to Saturday. It was still very wet here Wed and Thursday so all of that rain following a week of wet weather isn't good for flood prone areas. UKV was in particular showing some intense bursts along with the heavy and persistent rain. The meto regional forecast mentions that with a significant risk of flooding. I suspect the meto might get the orange crayon out in their next update for the west at least?
I'm just outside the Warning area, so I'll start building my ark this afternoon!

I would say they overestimated this storm. Last night was much more severe. Either the thunder or the rain set off our outside car. Alarm Never happened before.
edit: just had a short power cut though. Not sure why. Rain is getting heavier though.

We had a really good show and I think I might have some on video. If I have I will post.
Yeah was good to see but don’t think my video caught it. Eyes have a much wider view. There were other people out watching too. You could hear the kids shouting when the strikes lit up the sky. Probably one of the best I’ve seen in years and so unexpected. Zhiva (Border Terrier) was not impressed though.

Anyone aurora watching tonight? Fairly clear here. Before I had kids I used to stand in the fields with my camera to catch it. Got my picture posted in the local paper. Will see what an iPhone can do tonight rather than my cannon. Eos 8d from 2002 ish.

Looking a bit more lively now. Thank goodness as my twins are round at their pals round the corner doing some sort of outside karaoke. Soon to be rained off. Yass.

More or less a repeat of last night. Cloud built from the North rain heading in looks heavier than last night too but not quite as black as it was
Yep, yet again massive intense shower to the east. Light rain here.
