  1. http://www.bbc.co.uk/torchrelay this is the NW best camera feed, the live torch relay, horrendous rain now. Passes my ma n pa's house at 16.58 ish
  2. Do a timelapse on the metoffice lightning chart, it is moving very swiftly towards Kent..
  3. PIT, you are rather rude, the old style rainfall radar from the met office is no longer showing the weather warning links like it used to. The problem is, the new rainfall radar page will not open on my htc, and the met office 'mobile' pages are next to useless.
  4. well my boat is banging about for fun at the moment and it looks like the worst is still to hit.!!!!
  5. it's chuckling it down now here just North of Daventry. That looks nasty just south of cORNWALL
  6. AT LAST , I saw decent sunshine after 2pm since about the end of March. My new solar panel on the boat finally had the chance to deliver some serious ampage. It has been so dull, windy and cold, before that drenching showers and windy. In all my years cruising the canals I have never experienced an April and May like it.
  7. I spent last night at a very wet St Andrews.....come on you Tangerines...... Today has been warm enough to work outside in just a t-shirt, but it hasn't been sunny. In fact, since I installed my new 200W solar panel on Saturday, I have had about 1 1/2 hour of proper sunshine!!!
  8. well after losing the whole of March to no snow, the cairngorm has managed lots of ski-ing since mid april, it keeps snowing...
  9. go on, have a look at a radar and give yourself a treat... What time are we expecting the cells from europe? on the 23.51 , the 0041 and the 0117 fe%^ me!!
  10. I can't believe some people still try to carry on as if everything is still the same as it was a week ago. Surely you must notice the raging torrent in front of you before you drive in, surely you don't listen to the SatNav over common sense. I had to cross a river yesterday which had overflowed a low bridge, I watched other vehicles first and worked out how deep it was and which side of the road was the highest. A friend of mine has had to park her car 1/4 mile away from her usual spot as the Soar has submerged the marina where she lives.
  11. You put your skis in the shed already.... they've had 3 feet of snow in 4 days.. .
  12. all the chasers see to have taken the weather predictions as read, only verne Karlson seens to be looking at the flow and build up. I think the action is going to be slightly North of the original warnings. edit, to add, look at vernes stream now oh yes
  13. This was the River Trent yesterday, all navigation suspended... The River Soar was very similar, with lots more rain overnight....however, not All navigation was suspended....
  14. Oh, they have weather in the US of A too........... I have been that into the weather over here, I forgot to keep checking the StormChasing potential over there..
  15. Torrential for a time this morning - the rain seems to being squeezed from South and North into a tight precipitation band. I was amazed that the Cricket in Nottingham managed a full day yesterday - I was driving around looking at the floods and there were some seriously heavy showers in the Notts area.
  16. it jumps around and turns east, focuses on a few bits of London then slowly returns to the default position.
  17. with a lovely big cell approaching... I favourited it a while back as a friend of mine was cruising from limehouse to teddington, gave a virtual wave as they went past.
  18. two webcam worth watching, one very good quality one on the thames at chelsea moves, showing several cells passing to the north.. http://www.thechelseatile.com/chelsea-river-thames-london-webcam.html and maidenhead light airport - currently at the north side of a strong PPT cell http://www.wlac.co.uk/wlac/webcam/
  19. I am currently on the eastern front of that mass pouring in from Wales. There are some impressive looking CN and visible heavy precipitation within 10 miles. currently moored north of Coventry
  20. strange isn't it.....I have never had a meal and said these peas are hail sized....
  21. I operate on a very low signal at times due to being internet dongled and maybe being out in the country on a canal. The new rainfall radar really is too much for me to wait for, it takes an age and then jumps from hour to 3 hours. My HTC also doesn't like it.
  22. some people look at the skies as well as their computer screens.... There are certainly some big clouds bubbling up around here now...
  23. brian emfinger almost drove into the side of a tanker then!!
