    correct me if I'm wrong as I often am but that chart shows an easterly does it not? If that chart was in winter proper we would be pretty cold??

    Hi Badboy657 iam a complete newbie but if i remeber correctly winter 2010-2011 saw the cold begin mid-late november and end at the end of december. So if you use the same for this year it would be end of december to enf january, which is even better

    Hello everyone, i am very much and amateur and my undertsanding of any of the forecast models is limited to say the least. So enlighten me if you would. Why is it that although many of the background signals are pointing towards a colder scenario for winter only the Met office longrange probability maps show any sign of this and other long range forcast models such as the ECM do not? thanks in advance

    With all due respect that Is not what Brian said. He says that there is a reasonable chance. Of a milder than average winter but the chances of a average or colder winter is slightly higher.
