  1. Good luck everyone, I may be a little too west currently for kent clippers but that is just basing it on charts in could all change of course
  2. I'm joining, no storm activity this year here yet!
  3. A high today of 18.4C, really quite superb for mid-march! some bad summer days are cooler than that!
  4. what a lovely spell of weather we are having currently, plenty of sunshine and 3 days in a row with 15C+ temperatures! almost makes up for the duller than average jan,feb
  5. A thread named after the legendary Yamkin, Yamkin you must feel honoured to be the king ramper of this thread!
  6. This is one of the reasons I love France, still undpredictable weather but on a much more extreme scale, not just sun, cloud, rain variations like in the boring U.K but temperature and thunder/snow extremes as well, you're lucky to live there and I plan on living down there at some point as well, just need to perfect my French first! P.S: thanks for your adventure story!
  7. In my opinion the summer of 2009 was better than 2010 were I am, we had a hot week at the end of June with 30-32C widespread in the south-east for almost a week, with a max of 30.6C here on the 2nd of July, yes it fell apart for the remainder of July but with some amazing thunderstorm activity to boot, and at least August saw some warmth again with two very warm weekends in August, whist although June and the 1st half of July in 2010 were more consistently warmer yes, the warmth never returned in August and we had lower maximum temps and very little storm activity throughout the summer
  8. You'd think so yeah, unless it does a 2008 with Snow in early april, there won't be any snow away from northern higher ground
  9. You should take the under-article down about an NAO happening in March according to US meteoroligists, as a negative NAO hasn't occured, yet.
  10. Another fantastic day with plesent sunshine in a fresh Ne'rly and temperature now dropping rapidly at 4.1c, looks good for the next few days but sorry guys no more real cold this winter me thinks and charts keep chopping and changing but allways showing warmth in the long run
  11. liking the weather currently, plenty of sun and even the first slight frost for a month a low of -0.6c overnight! will be watching the charts to see if an upcoming cold shot vertifies
  12. Because we've seen this situation on the charts come to nothing all too often over the last couple of months, in saying that outlook does look good for both sun and frost , just can't see snow happening though now.
  13. Goodbye cold spell thread, goodbye amazing winter which wasn't amazing at the same time, but late nov/december, just.. special :cray:
  14. Yep winter's been fun on here, maybe over in terms of winter weather now but look foward to storm tracking and sitting outside in 30C+ heat, bring it on! (hopefully)
  15. Really nice day today with the sunshine finally arriving and temperatures being unusually warm (Gatwick reported 15C today) and some local stations on wunderground at 17C! after a miserable week so far! also the chances of colder weather starting early on next week are incereasing, BUT this has happened twice this year allready where a potential cold spell has come to nothing so i'll only start to ramp when we get inside the reliable time-frame but at least the weather is finally doing something worth talking about!
  16. Shut them when we know for sure that no cold spells will happen (around mid-april).
  17. They are, 1C everywhere in the region on saturday night after a highs of 9C, will it hold though
  18. gave up hope on the the so called cold spell two fridays ago, that eastern block sadly can't overpower the strong atlantic flow and is too far east anyway, still thursday should be fun, warmest of year so far? cold still could shock and break through though, nothings impossible
  19. suprised it's that cold to be honest, thought the sun would warm it up nicely today but at least we sort of had our 3rd sunny day in a row , tommorrow has permission to be rubbish although the possible heavy rain tommorrow could at least be dramatic, sunday and monday look like a drizzlefest sadly. And no sky likely get their data from somewhere and the weather forecasters just read the data off a map.
  20. Hopefully it stays all day I'm enjoying just having some decent mild sun! Good weather today.
  21. I prey that you're right but I just can't see it happening, the block is too far east and therefore the atlantic will likely flow instead
  22. I think winter the way it should be may well not be coming back although maybe we may get surprised in March/April but bring on spring and summer if not, known as the 'faded winter' this one, truly memorable start but got worse onwards and never recovered, reminds me a lot of the summer of last year, very good start, never recovered after mid july, hopefully this summer will be more balanced out but I wouldn't trust it, remaining postive as usual though
  23. Been quite a contrast in mood swings on the MT throughout the week, currently looking good but more favoured for the north so hopefully as development go on we will join in but I can see it changing once again for the worse, really thought about throwing in the towel last night but GFS and ECM charts look better, will be rubbish tommorrow perhaps but oh well.
  24. Yes it is still winter weather, but i'm unsure whether we will even see that next week looking at the predictions and models, all subject to change though, we should see at least one crisp night surely!
