Evening All. :)We had a almighty storm in the morning, really hammered down no thunder though. The humidity was a tad too much, it felt very warm in the sunshine, at least i got a top up of vitamin D - as I post this the skies are darkening, wonder how things will develop into the Evening.Edit: the mass of PPN has arrived
Amazing what a difference a few miles can make, no rain here this morning, never mind thunder! in fact we had clear blue skies.
Left at mid day for Plumpton race course. Lovely there too, which was nice. Managed two 2nd's and a 3rd, well the 3rd was also last as only 3 finished. Just as well we don't part with real cash when we go.

Im right next to a Woodland and several big Parks - have a lovely day locals
Where abouts in SE London are you Daniel?
Now if it was like this this morning it would have been a lovely day, unfortunately the cloud has broken too late in the day.

No rubbing your eyes either!

I consider March a wintery month, what we have been experiencing is not exactly traditional, some diversity is all im looking for. After a winter devoid of cold stuff. You cant begrudge? If we had a winter, I would be looking for something warm, however this has not been the case this winter. Little did you know im a coldie?
It is only expected to last for a few days and then a return to the normal regime,
Little concerned over Tam - hope she is well, she did say she was in a bad state.
As a menopausal woman I've been practising begrudging for several years hehe.
If it snows I'll have to wrap the frog spawn up, round up some ladybirds and go into the loft again to get my hat and gloves
Good job I don't think it will snow here

I think during the night/early morning we will have the best chance for a wintery mix. The uppers look decent. Maybe borderline..
The lampost will not go into hibernation yet - IMO this is our best chance and perhaps last, until next winter Keep the faith - although most have deserted this winter. I reckon some might get a few suprises.
You can keep those wintry wishes to yourself please. No snow now, it's too late, ladybirds have left my kitchen, bumble bees are out and about, I've got window sills full of seedlings and I've packed away my trapper hat and gloves in the loft.

Yes Tadpole, I've noticed lots of bees and ladybirds too. As you say, I hope they haven't emerged too early.
Which type of tomato are you growing this year.
Ps.... fab, warm afternoon
In case of blight which I get in wet years;
Legend
Ferline
Others;
Gardeners delight
Roma
Marmande
Minibel
A yellow one that I can't remember the name of.
Might stick a tumbling on in too.
Tried loads of others over the years and didn't like them for various reasons. Very disappointed with Black Russian, didn't like the taste.
I've got a very very small garden, not a bit of soil can be seen by summer.
Weather note....Still blue skies, not as warm but that might be because I'm in a north facing room

Beautiful day and warmer than I was expecting in the sun. Tomato seedlings potted on with out injury to my back and painted the fence and wall all without back ache too. Not pushing it so lawn mowing tomorrow.
Loads of bumble bees and ladybirds out in the sun, hope a late cold snap doesn't appear now, would be the end of many of them.
Popped out to buy some yeast and noticed everyone walking around with a spring in their step and seem happier. Amazing what a sunny day can do to lift the spirits.

Hi All, hope all is well.
Can anyone give a home to some frogspawn in the Leighton Buzzard area ?
Garden pond idealy, our pond has been overtaken by the stuff this year and
we had over 80 clumps on the last count.
Sorry if a bit random
Shotski
Shame you're not near me I'd love it. Loads of 'activity' in my pond but not a single piece of frogspawn yet. Usually have loads of it by now.
Looking forward to a nice sunny day tomorrow so I can pot on my tomato seedlings without the risk of putting my back out again. Might risk mowing the lawn too.

Oh well, my slight cold is turning into man flu. My face is so flushed, it looks like I've either been on a major booze session, or have been sunburned.
I think I'll have an early night, as tv football is not filling me with enthusiasm. Hopefully I'll be okay in the morning; actually I feel better than I did an hour or two ago.
Catch you in the morning.
Honey and lemon drinks, works wonders, especially on man flu
Weather note: Wouldn't it be lovely if the summers were warm enough to grow lemons.

Jan I did my back in the other day turning the compost heap, I look forward to potting on my tomatoes at the weekend, not as dangerous! Hope your back recovers quickly.
It was a lovely day today until the alternator went on hubby's van so guess who's got an early morning drive in the fog (thanks for the heads up JP) tomorrow morning. Thinking on it, he can drive in and I'll drive my car home via Sainsburys then the fog will have lifted a bit I hope.
The warm days have the forget-me-nots out early in my garden, looks very spring like with the daffs. Much nicer than the snow on the ground this time last year.

Very quiet in here today.
Washing out, bins done, vacuum done downstairs and even washed the path at the back of the house ( a winter a green had built up on it ), sun is showing its hand at last here too.
Pop round to mine and do the same please :)I'm off to have a garden day. Much more interesting clearing up and pottering out there than doing chores inside, especially as it's dry and sort of warm.

The weather outlook have snow flakes for me on the 19th & 21st.
Too late, don't want it now, I've got my dinner to grow.
-
Can I bank this please ....
Sunday could potentially bring some of the highest temperatures of the year so far if we are lucky :
I hope it moves to Saturday, I'm at my inlaws all day Sunday and I want to do some gardening.

Hi all thank you for all your best wishes x
Yesterday went well had biopsys taken and they said they couldn't see any cancer but to be sure will
Have to wait 2-4 weeks for results . And I have to have a op under ga to get rid of
The pre cancerous cells
Once
Again thank
You all your all so lovely and have really helped me get thru some tough times I want you all to know if anyone ever want a ear I'm here
For u xx
Lovely sunny day today that matches my families smiles
I think it's fair to say that I can speak on behalf of everyone here on NetWeather in that we wish you the very best of luck for the surgeries and the full biopsy results (reassuring to know the prelims yesterday look good.......Although it's not something I normally talk about, I've had 3 cancer scares in the past 10 years and 2 resultant sugeries, so I totally empathize with you and am certainly rooting for you )....All the very best
So pleased with the initial findings snowlady.
And whilst I rarely mention it, I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 29, I had a lumpectomy and 22 years later I'm still here
Having trouble adjusting to sleep UK time, not to mention the weather. Thailand is a lot warmer than here and my old joints are complaining again about the cold.
Never mind, nice to see blue skies and pleased that I didn't miss a snow event whilst away.
Are there any spring forecasts out yet? I

updated fax charts
friday
first lets do thursday night-friday morning
so
the low incoming keeps the colder air behind it
at present that has very heavy rain in that
i can see thunderstorms and hail poss as well
also some potential strong winds as the low heads away north eastwards
friday night looks dry but chilly and still breezy
saturday
saturday morning sees some heavy rain but easing-not as heavy by lunchtime
however look whats coming
that has problems written all over it with some very tight isobars there
remember these amend every night
the thurs nights low could still amend tomorrow
Hopefully that low will become a nice still night with no rain either. At least at Heathrow whilst my plane is taking off at 9pm!
I hate taking off , it's the worse part of flying.

hi tadpole
the ridge is in a very early state in the atlantic
the weather on that looks breezy but not overly so from a west-south west
would be wet though
ok for flying on that chart at present
1 thing it isnt
a blizzard
Thanks JP
S*ds law says as I've entered the snow cup for the first time this year, the blizzard will start on the 7th and finish on the 17th.

hi tom
the rain is getting silly now
even walking around croydon centre is looking like big puddle city
lets hope we can at least squeeze at few dryer slots inbetween this deluge
got a feeling if you look at ukmo at 144
we may have a chance of a mid atlantic ridge building
small sign at present
but any chance of stopping this muck would be gratefully accepted
Does that ridge make good flying weather around 9pm from Heathrow?
I hate taking off in wet and windy weather.

My elderly mum just called me, the wind blew her bird feeder over could I pop down and and put it back up? She lives 80 miles away at Greatstone! I'll pop down Monday and do it and make sure she has plenty of supplies in before the snow arrives.
Speaking of which, netweather 10 day forecast gives me 70% of snow next Sunday

light rain here in SE18
just going to do my lottery, rain coat or jacket?
rain coat then
Need more than a rain coat!
More thunder and lightening too and it's heading your way.
Feel sorry for anyone caught out in this, it was lovely earlier today.
-
Big rumble of thunder here and sudden short sharp burst of heavy rain.
EDIT, lots of rain and windy too.

We don't have enough logs to chop for that!!!!!!!!

Is it the sort of snow/cold that means I should get hubby to chop some extra logs for the fire? or the sort that I'll think, oh is that it?

I want some yum yums now
-
ha ha jax
fi etc etc
but cannot rule that option out at present
cor and look at 348
when gfs show something other than zonal its worth taking note
will it happen
ask me in a few days
No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I fly out to Thailand on the 6th, no snow between me and Heathrow airport please. The slightest snow flake and it seems to cause chaos there.

Wish the arrow box was a touch bigger. It's smaller than the number box. That's not a problem unless you're short sighted like me and have to spend several seconds carefully trying to place the curser on it.
I have tomato overload in my home, desperately wishing for 10c at night so they can go out. Every year I hope it will be sooner than mid May and every year it doesn't happen. You'd think after decades of growing them I'd know by now.
