  1. Can't sleep due to he noise of the wind. I can hear things in my garden being thrown around. Those gusts sound a lot more than 30mph that the met office say. I'm going to be so tired tomorrow.
  2. I hope the 54mm of rain!!!! that netweather have forecast for Saturday vanishes, I'll need to start building a boat instead of a shed
  3. JP I feel for you. It must be depressing writing those reports when it should be at least mild at this time of year here in the south east. I'm pleased I can only read basic charts and cant do forecasting, I'd depress myself very quickly and give growing my fruit and veg.
  4. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2323300/UK-Weather-Last-years-wash-summer-predicted-repeat-heavy-showers-cold-weather-forecast-rest-May.html Wash out summer predicted. Hope this isn't the first time they're right!
  5. Here too, feels like October not May. And I note from JP that it's dry whist I'm at work tomorrow *stamps feet and has a temper tantrum*
  6. Can someone turn the tap off please, I've food to grow in the garden. At this rate I'll have to buy fruit and veg this summer
  7. A light rain shower here a few mins ago in Sydenham, why did it wait till I popped to the corner shop! now I'm back can the sun come back out please from the high white cloud that has covered the blue sky
  8. Lovely day here again, lawn drying out at last, birds busy nest building and collecting bugs and frog spawn changing, can see little tiny tadpole shapes now. Mother in law visiting on Bank holiday.........any chance of it being dry in the afternoon? can't stand the thought of polite conversation in the living room for hours. She loves going out to parks/gardens etc but only when it's dry, otherwise she parks herself on the sofa and won't budge.
  9. Sorry, daft question coming........I like and can understand the red, and pleased there's no big blue blobs, but what does the white area over the south east in June mean?
  10. The heating is back on thermostat set at 15c and I'm back in jumpers too. When does 20c return?
  11. What a difference a day, makes 24 little hours...........there's a song there somewhere Back to damp and grey again. The pear tree has decided to burst into full flower, and the cherry tree will do in a couple of days, hope the insects are still out and about in spite of the cooler wet weather. Speaking of which, must do a snail and slug hunt tonight.
  12. Now this is more like it. Bright blue sky, warm sunshine, tweeting birds and a day off to potter in the garden I'm going to lie to myself and pretend JP has said it will last 'till mid September, only interrupted by the odd thunder storm and occasional showers to water the garden and even then only happening at night.
  13. Glade you added that last post JP........relief! and with the hope that it will warm up eventually, I can now have my relaxing bath.
  14. Been lovely here, 19c in the shade in my garden, but that breeze reminded me of sitting on the beach on the south coast needing a wind break. Bluebreezer you may have had hotter temps than SE London but it's dry here, just some high white clouds. So nice to see blue sky and feel some warm sun again, 7 months is just too long to wait for it.
  15. Thanks JP, if it's night time only I can cope with that, but wouldn't want to start wearing the thermals again.
  16. Now I know metcheck aren't great with their forecasts but.........they're showing sleet for the end of the month Could it really get that cold again here in London?
  17. OK, I give up. I can not work out what fi stands for. Please enlighten me.
  18. Hazy sunshine here too and what a difference to a week ago. Spring is here because I've started to harden off my tomatoes at last. They had a few days of open kitchen window and now they have 30 mins of being outside and will be outside albeit under cover at night in around the next 10 days or so. I get my kitchen window sills back.
  19. After complaining about cloud earlier, it's been beautiful here this afternoon, clear blue skies and a warm yellow ball shining brightly. It finally feels like winter has left
  20. I was just thinking them same. Got the housework done quickly so I could get some gardening done and now it's all cloudy and chilly. Just have to wrap up warm and get on with it I guess.
