  1. Moderate snow here but fantastic scenery. I don't know if it will get any heavier but enjoying it.
  2. The Coventry snow shield is in operation (of sorts); though it has been snowing for quite a few hours and has settlled on the grass and cars, it has not settled on pavements or roads. However, at least we have managed to see some snow this winter and it's quite possible that there may be more to come in the short to medium term though how much is uncertain.. (as shown in changes in the models from run to run).. It has been interesting following the models and the various possible solutions being offered whatever they may be.
  3. Coventry is predicted to have heavy snow on the MO website from 12am onwards. . Looking at the radar, I don't see how that's possible to be honest. The information has apparently been updated at 11pm.
  4. Had a very few flakes and it has stopped. Looks like we're going to get almost nothing here.
  5. We've had nothing either. Radar is showing precipitation over us now since under an hour ago but nothing is falling down from the sky to ground level. Maybe there's a snow shield between Coventry and Leicester after all...
  6. On the radar, precipitation just a little to the north, west and south west of us, But nothing here yet.
  7. We have nothing falling out of the sky either, it's just a case of wait and see really.
  8. Same here. But the skies have been gradually getting darker and darker in the last hour or so.
  9. We've been downgraded to light snow on the Met Office Website throughout the snow event while a little further W/SW in Solihull and East in Rugby, they will have a period of heavy snow. That's odd to say the least; with the large uncertainty about when the front will arrive, which direction it's going, and even whether it's going to be freezing rain or snow; it's all quite a little bizarre to be honest.
  10. I personally think that it just looks far too marginal to have a significant snow event on Thursday/Friday. I think it's more likely that there will be a rain/sleet/snow mix for most areas. Some on the hills may do well out of it. However, forecasts have been known to change at very short notice; it was surprising that the extent of the snow last weekend was further westwards than expected. Let''s hope for a pleasant surprise.
  11. There may be a possible snow event on Thursday evening and Friday according to the 5 day Met Office Forecast for my area. It claims that it's going to be sleet on Thursday and Friday night but shows snow in Friday daytime. The uppers are probably quite marginal but we'll just have to see. It could get interesting though I don't think it's going to beat the snow event we had in the weekend. In the very short time, we've got a very very cold night coming tonight and similarly the same applies to tomorrow night.
  12. According to the radar, there may be a couple of more heavier bursts heading this way before this memorable snow event ends.
  13. I've just been outside, the snow is getting even heavier; I don't remember the last time it was this heavy. Measured depths up to 7cm and increasing fast.
  14. Sure, good point. Thanks. And the snow is even getting heavier now..
  15. Yes, it has, and it may even get heavier from what can be seen on the radar. I would say it's gone up to 6cm on some parts of the road now, another couple of hours and we could be looking at around 10cm which would be the most we have got in Coventry for as long as I can remember.
  16. Gone out and measured the snow depth here in Coventry, snowing heavily with depths of around 4cm. However, there may still be more to come before the night is out. However, it may be that the heaviest stuff may pass just to the north of us or alternatively maybe it comes a little further southeastwards.
  17. It's around 3-4cm here in Coventry; much better than many other times where we've missed out.
  18. Getting heavier in Coventry.... it looks so beautiful outside.
  19. According to the Weather Channel radar, it's just to the north west of us and is very close to us. Whether we will miss out on it or in fact it will travel a little South Eastwards towards us remains to be seen.
  20. The main roads are still all clear in Coventry, is it going to miss out as it does so many times ? I would say just over a cm on the ground now... on a positive note, it's better than nothing.
