the general rules are that u cant call snow even 24 hours before the event happens with any great certainty is my understanding. so all i look for is not to completely rule snow out and its still not ruled out! even the met office are showing snow for my area on saturday!!! when that happens i start to get excited as they are very reluctant to put snow on there! i dare not look at metcheck (the wishlist forecast website) as thats showing a snowmageddon for next week which wont happen!
Temp 1.2oC
DP 1.1oC
Looks like all the showers are passing just west of me and will carry on all day doing so.
Even so i been out walking in the snow showers first thing so cant grumble too much. Back to watching 24 for me haha
just passed by oldham/ashton yet again, we are like 2-3 miles out of the decent snow here, at higher ground! saving grace is the irish sea is really getting going!
aye, sticking in salford atm too, who would have thought us with a bit more height would miss out as it stands haha.
met office say heavy snow for ashton from 9am and 12pm so radar watching me thinks haha
i live on hartshead 136m asl, currently 3.6oC dew point 2.9oC and we had 15mm of rain here today! temps are slowly dropping here now was over 4oC an hour ago. hoping we look good for snow here!
was gonna say its only got to 27mph here, so winds aint that bad in Ashton-u-Lyne atm. The 17mm of rain in 6 hours on the other hand has led to some roads having a slight covering and with tameside councils inability to sort the roads out (nothing been done about last winters pot holes never mind this years) it means there are loads of puddles of water everywhere and some drains are overflowing. very intresting nights weather here
