  1. cheshire snow Yeah, we'll see what happens when the more intense ppn arrives.
  2. Joe Snow Yes, at least the band of rain was relatively narrow and the worst of it moved through this morning. Tomorrow definitely looking grim, not the best start to meteorological spring.
  3. As expected here, a spell of heavy rain this morning, not even a hint of sleet. Like the last event, around a 1000 feet or more needed for proper falling and settling snow ot seems.
  4. Dark Horse Yeah, a striking similarity to the last 'event'. The automated metoffice output is showing a temp of 3C, heavy rain and a strong ESE wind here for a few hours during the morning, fairly vile.
  5. Rush2019 it could certainly be an interesting rush hour for some based on that chart. I think I'll expect nothing, then if we see snow, it will be a bonus.
  6. cheshire snow Yes, I think a warning will be issued and the met will have to come off the fence in terms of heights for both falling and settling snow. It will be interesting to see their thoughts later this morning.
  7. It's certainly looking good for higher ground tomorrow, but at this altitude, I think we will be stuck with the worst case scenario, heavy rain with the temp sat around 3 degrees above freezing and a stiff Easterly wind. Yuk. Time will tell.
  8. An overcast day here, but the serious rain held off until late afternoon, so could have been worse. I'm really not expecting any snow at this location and altitude on Friday, but those with a couple of hundred metres or more may have a decent chance. The last 'event' was looking good until things downgraded at the very last minute so I'll definitely be waiting until T+0 before getting properly interested, if it's still on the cards by that point. Metoffice not really that interested in snow away from high ground.
  9. The mini drought has ended here Some heavy outbreaks of rain moved through late afternoon and looks like the default pattern has reset again now. Iceaxecrampon just one thing missing - the arrows
  10. Another decent day with plenty of sunshine. Temp around average after a chilly start, reached 8.6C. Nearly three days without seeing any rain now. That's a novelty!
  11. Another frosty start today and colder than the previous day, got down to -1.7C. Plenty of sunshine again this morning and looks like being a dry day today. It's been a very decent weekend here.
  12. Got down to -0.9C overnight here and it's been a lovely day so far with plenty of sunshine, current temp 6.8C.
  13. Heavy rain this morning here, cleared to some rain and hail showers this afternoon, definitely feeling markedly colder today.
  14. Iceaxecrampon It was certainly more wading than walking on the way down from Styhead. Windy Gap certainly lived up to it's name on Saturday as well. The one advantage of the low cloud was that we did some lower Wainwrights I had not done before and might not have otherwise chosen to do if the weather had been better.
  15. A damp and miserable start to the day here but at least the promise of some drier weather this afternoon. A change in the weather coming up over the next few days, mild rain to be replaced by cold rain. Joy...
  16. A reasonable day today, quite cloudy, dry but some brightness at times. Just had a good weekend of walking in the Lake District. The weather was a bit of a mixed bag and rather fitting that I was walking from Seathwaite on Saturday when heavy rain set in during the afternoon, given it is the wettest place in England. Everything, even footpaths, turned to rivers. Sunday was much drier though and even had some sun at times. A bit disappointing that the highest summits remained in cloud all weekend, but rather moody and atmospheric yesterday with the low cloud rolling around the fell tops. We passed a load of toads basking in the sun on the footpath on the way out yesterday. At least, I assume they were toads rather than frogs.
  17. An overcast morning here with the odd shower, currently 10C. I'm heading up to the Lakes shortly for a walking weekend. It looks a mixed bag of weather with rain at times and the cloud likely to be down below the tops most of the weekend, so not the best conditions and certainly not the wintry conditions I was hoping for, but will still be good to get up into the mountains.
  18. Rush2019 Wow, 14.4C first thing in the morning in mid Feb, ridiculously mild. I'm sure we didn't get much past that as a maximum temperature in summer last year on some occasions.
  19. Yesterday didn't end up too bad until later in the afternoon, when some rain arrived. It was very mild for February, reached 13.6C. Not much of a temperature drop overnight and remained in double figures with a low of 10.6C. Dry to start here, although the luxury of some more rain looms for later.
  20. Not the wet afternoon I was expecting here based on the forecast this morning. Mostly dry and cloudy throughout. A slight bit of dampness in the air now, but nothing even remotely significant enough to get the ground wet right now.
