  1. Some quite vicious gusts now, wind really gripping the house. Probably approaching the peak over the next hour.
  2. The wind really is starting to get quite lively here, gusts equally as bad if not worse than the peak of Storm Isha at this location already and we've probably still got 4 or 5 hours or so until the peak.
  3. A very mild day, reached 14.8C earlier. Some outbreaks of rain during the day, but nothing that significant, a strong shadow effect again from the Welsh Hills. The wind has really started to increase here in the past few minutes, some strong gusts now.
  4. A decent day here, dry with some sunshine. Breezy throughout and some gusty winds out now. Another storm incoming tomorrow and unfortunately looks like the same areas likely taking the brunt of the winds again.
  5. Nothing that significant in terms of wind here overnight. We did have some more potent gusts around midnight, but no different to a standard winter low pressure system. I was expecting it to be much worse given the forecast and warnings.
  6. The wind has picked up as the evening has progressed, but nothing out of the ordinary, just a bit gusty out so far. It has definitely gone up a notch or two n the past few minutes.
  7. Wind starting to gather strength a little here, does look like the peak will be in 2 or 3 hours time or so.
  8. Still not overly windy here, can hear the very occasional moderate gust, but just typical breezy weather so far here. Perhaps it is one of those events where it suddenly cranks up from very little. We shall see.
  9. After being mostly dry for the most part today, the rain has finally arrived. Breezy out, but nothing of any major significance yet. It promises to be a lively evening and first part of the night. Looks like the peak of the winds will be around late evening/midnight here.
  10. Cloudy and breezy here today so far, the wind is starting to pick up more now. We have seen very little rain, just a bit damp. As is sometimes the case here during strong SW flows, we are in the rain shadow of the Welsh Hills, can see the gaping hole on the radar.
  11. Yes, looks really quite severe, mentioning frequent gusts up to 60mph and also possibly reaching 70mph inland. A case of battening down the hatches and crossing fingers there is no structural damage come the morning.
  12. Overcast and breezy here today and damp at times. The temperature is higher than it has been, but still a rather raw feeling day, currently 6.4C.
  13. A decent day again today, not as cold as the previous days, but still chilly. Sunny for much of it with increasing cloud cover through the afternoon. Max temp 5.3C. The footpaths are still treacherous on places with patchy frozen snow cover. I would rate the cold spell as 6/10 for this location. An inch of snow early Tuesday and another dusting yesterday and some decent frosts. The cold spell originally looked like it had the potential to deliver more, but still a reasonable effort.
  14. Coming down nicely, everything white over. Looks like this may be the final hurrah for snow in this cold spell.
  15. Another very cold day, minimum overnight temp was -6.7C and reached 2.7C this afternoon. Temp dipping now towards freezing I can see dark clouds in the distance to the West and North West.
  16. It's been such a superb few days, sods law that it all changes just in time for the weekend.
  17. The metoffice aren't interested in much other than the odd snow flurry today in coastal parts and they're not seeing anything at all overnight. I'll still be keeping half an eye on the radar though.
  18. Yes, the downside of it being so cold, the car will be well and truly welded shut. We won't have to worry about that after tomorrow though, that's for sure.
