  3. The precipitation is in mm. So the guide on the side i.e pink 1, pink 2 etc shows 1mm, 2mm. The more the precipitation the heavier the snow.
  4. He added that the exceptionally deep snow in the normally warmer south east has been caused by the effects of a geographical feature known as the "Thames Streamer" where winds "gang up together". "Because of the shape of the Thames Estuary you get what we call a convergence line meaning that the winds tend to converge along a line - that is why there have been such massive snowfall totals turning up across south London and Surrey."
  5. I thought netweather was a step up from the met office, much in the same was as the house of lords and house of commons ;-)
  6. Bang on Coast, sitting on top of what`s here will make an interesting start to the week. Why is something white soo much fun and eye candy?
  7. Sunday has huge potential, a Wales-esque scenario. We deserve it after today`s efforts but some cheeky little efforts tonight so not all over yet.
  8. Got a webcam behind my curtains to monitor any more snowfall tonight lol Saves me getting up ;-)
  9. Blobbing `el where did that come from? Actually where is it lol Don`t say I have to curtain twitch!
  10. There seems to be thought that this front could basically stall or move very slowely over the UK due to the jet stream (lack of). This alone increases risks and the SE winds increases blizzard like conditions. Can`t wait for this time tomorrow when speculation should be over and either a huge downgrade or a met upgrade stretching the amber region.
  11. @ Manutdmatt Look at the NAE image again and look at the bracketed area at the bottom, 12+48. I know where you are looking to suggest it is only 6z but that never tallies up.
  12. Yet again the GFS precipitation chart stands up to the NAE and I am with you somewhat with the GFS. It is poor when it fails to deliver what you want and a god when it does. Personally I think it is consistent and that is not just about the precipitation output.
  13. Hopefully this will quash all the will it won`t it west/east etc. This is a guide, nobody knows what is going to happen.
