  1. Hmm a very similar output between the UkMO and the ECM but not in the same time frame. UKMO T144 - http://www.meteociel...=144&carte=1021 ECM T96 - http://www.meteociel...map=0&archive=0
  2. The ECM in a weird way could be correct going by the GFS`s jet stream output at T192. GFS stream (24th) - http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/gfse_cartes.php?&ech=192&mode=5 The ECM makes a jolt south from T168, is this due to the stream?
  3. Seeing as the focus is around the 20th there is some decent amounts of precipitation about. http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/gfse_cartes.php?&ech=120&mode=2
  4. I posted yesterday about the jet stream by the GFS but no response I think. The GFS has the stream flying into the UK from the NW at 162/168. It has some speed behind it. How much does the jet affect things? What does it pull along with it?
  5. Just flicked through many models on meteociel and they all seem to be much of a muchness around Jan 20, cold. This is T168. I suppose 168 is well into FI at the moment but with a lot of the models foreseeing cold is there some credibility there?
  6. How much does the jet stream play a part in a sustained period of cold? I would presume the quicker it is the quicker X weather comes and goes. The GFS still has the jet flying along at about 200km/h @ T192. http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/gfse_cartes.php?&ech=192&mode=5
  7. Every model from above links do not know what to do when the low pressure to the west, vortex? tight isobars? when it moves towards the pole. I am very sorry if what I have said is rubbish, just the way I am looking at the charts and outcomes.
  8. The GFS does have the jet stream coming as an easterly from T174 to T192. What would that carry with it?
  9. Time to jump on the Nogaps lol What the hell it is seeing compared the others @ T180h?
  10. At what point between now and FI do we think there is not going to be a cold blast of winter? Being a chilli grower it would be nice to think maybe spring could come early for seeding. I know everything is in the balance but obviously by the end of the month we should know 1 way or the other?
  11. Looking at the jet stream from the GFS in FI. In regards to Steve Murr`s post yesterday, the stream finally swings round to a NE flow with a "camel hump" earlier in the run?
  12. Sorry folks to butt in but I follow this thread daily like a big kid. I have a couple of questions that I need answering. What is the GFS 6z run What is the GFS 12z run and why it is different to the 6z. What FI means. I also use the meteociel site daily but the above questions annoy me following this thread because I am not sure what you guys mean when quoting them. Thanks, A keen 38yo weather fan.
  13. Sorry I cannot post anything substantial but totally agree our cold wintry weather normally comes from the east. Slightly struggling to see it at present with any of the main models but you guys have the knowledge.
  14. Just looking through the models on the meteociel site. I notice there are a few models that hardly get a mention on here, BOM, WMC, GEM. What is the reason behind this? They all seem to be fairly similar.
  15. Hi folks, it has probably been 12 months since I joined the forums and have been spying recently now things are getting colder again. I suppose I am just saying hi and keep up the good guess work folks.
