After another year of thread watching I am going to take my annual plunge. There is not much mention of the jet stream and the part it plays or does not play.
From the start of December it is over the UK tracking from the NW
But then it takes a direct and pretty strong track from the west.
Does this just pull in warmer air from the Atlantic or is there much more to it than that?

Just starting to turn to snow in NW essex, temp at stansted has just dropped 4c in 30 mins, and some pretty big flakes (about the size of golf balls) coming down

Aaahh cool, well it's a tad heavier now - the lighter ppn ahead of front is pepping up and currently more so over you than Norfolk but now doing same here! As front moves over then will pep up more for all of us

Snow now in Saffron Walden(north Essex) now, making a timelapse. Will chuck it on youtube IF it gets heavier. I say IF due to being out and haven`t caught up with the latest forecast.
