Guys! Just checked my thermometer and its 15c out! Surely thats a record?

Well I think its gonna be mild for a lonnng time. Not all winter though. The mild will eventually fade, it cant last forever.

Looks like we are going to be mild for a few weeks. Tbh, I can't really remember not seeing lying snow in December so this month so far is very odd. I was saying to my mother yesterday 'it's more like October than December'. It doesn't feel like winter at all and my gut feeling is that we will not see very much wintry weather at all. I have matured and accepted that it is not going to happen, i'm sure we will see something at some stage but at the moment for the next few weeks all i'm seeing is 8c days which is pretty pathetic. It all puts it into perspective that we have absolutely hideous winters.

Had some snow half an hour ago and an hour before that. Second snow falling day of the season.

Can report that I seen snow twice. 2pm and 3.30pm. So there we go we seen some snow today! WOOP WOOP. Annoying though because the showers are far and few between. Temperature is 2.5c and a dew point of -0.5c. Tbh the snow could lie on the hills if we get somemore showers but doubt down here.

Think we are going to see snow at some point tbh. Cold is moving down middle of scotland very quickly

Think cold front has just pulled through. Temp has dropped from 9c to 5c and dew point is now -1c

Hi all. Power has been oot three times and it super windy. Can here the trees blowing like hell. Cold front is on its way but it is 8c now, not expecting that to last long. Half expecting wet snow later. Nae and bbc say yes. Edit: 9:17 power has now been off for 1 hour and a half after the fourth time. Dangerously windy

Well it was looking good within 3 days. In December where I live we usually get a few days of lying snow at least. So this is just atrocious, we have only seen snow once and we have had like six frosts.. Yawn.I've never seen a cold spell downgrade so much in my life. Yesterday 528 line was over galway now it is over glasgow. Think tbh the cold spell will downgrade right until it happens until we are having 7c and rain on friday. But yeah thats typical..This time we have all learn't not to get drawn in because the super duperty axores high will destory everythingI. Have to agree. I think our winters are going back to their mild norm after the cold in 2010, think that was just a blip and not a patteen change. The last two winters would back me up.

More like a blink cold snap. My chances of snow now have become ziltch. the cold air actually lasts 6 hours. From 510dam and -12c uppers for 4 days to 535dam and -7c uppers for 6 hours. Pathetic. Think this winter is going to be awful based on the latest cold spells or should I say cold failures. I have now decided that I will not trust that a cold spell is coming until it is within 24 HOURS Depressing because I was looking forward to a few snow showers and up until 18 hours ago that lookked good. Now I am stuck with wind and rain, something I have already experienced today. Yawwwn. Get me out of this boring nondescript hell hole

It keeps going north and east every single run. Grr Them scottish ones are getting all excited and we have just rain. Spoilt brats, dread to see their pics on friday.

Ok this is my forecast for friday.

Well it says snow tomorrow on the 300m forecast which is odd. Tbh i'm expecting rain but a bit of wet snow if the showers are heavy late at night. It was actually looking good on the 0z we were to have 522dam and then it slowly edged away to 530dam. Sigh

No I am using nae. I prefer to get an opinion rather than use their forecast because it looks very on edge. Don't know what to expect tbh

No! They are not right and someone said their forecasts are computer generated. This is a volatile siutation; there could be rain or snow. It is very close. I have set up a thread to see.

They are never right.It is weird, i dont think i have experienced high dam and low uppers like this before

Ok. So thursday is coming, not really sure what to expect. I wish to achieve a PROFESSIONAL opinion. Nae. (Which is accurate) has snow over me. Uppers are -8c Dam is 530 Dew point is -3c 950 temp is -1c Gfs Says rain or sleet but sure. Surely with -8c uppers and negative dews the dam will not matter? I wish to see some wet snow on thursday night; that is all this is concerning. First chart is uppers Second is 950 Third is rain snow Fourth is dews Fifth is dam

Nae hae snow over north coast. I don't think i've ever seen a situation like this where we have 530dam heights with -8c uppers. Dew points are -3c yet people are saying sleet. I will have to get a professional opinion.

Just looked at nae and did not realise we will have 528dam and -5c uppers tonight.

6c temp is dropping in the rain. Tomorrow will be colder at 5c.
