  1. It can also turn the other way with the midlness. I think we have been unlucky in the cold sector, we have had a couple of very cold air-masses which have been pushed away. I suppose it could be worse.
  2. Well I remain optimistic of seeing some wet snow on Thursday at some point. I don't think the thicknesses matter as long as they are not excessively high. I have seen snow with 544dam before. (534dam is the highest thickness we get) Think the showers will have to be heavy.
  3. Wait and see what happens with snow but snow forecast says 60% Think we might see a bit of wet snow.
  4. Don't know what you are going on about. There is -10c uppers over me on thursday night with subzero dews of course it will snow. Snow risk is 60percent
  5. Probs will be Upper air temp will be -8c with 500m freezing level at 3pm on Thursday. Sorry but don't see it being marginal at all on Friday or Thursday afternoon don't know whats wrong with met offices heads The other parameters Dew point -2c Wet bulb 4c H500 523dan 925 temps -2c
  6. Oh and incase your wondering the upper air temp is -9c on Friday afternoon. 7c would suggest a lapse rate of well... A drop of a degree every 300feet. Over the top
  7. Looks like snow will begin at 3pm thursday. Gfs hae us dun for 2c max on Friday. Met office 7c with rain. Rain with -11c uppers? Right.... I don't think the met office ever have us down for snow. Lets be honest. Oddly they have nw england down for snow when we hae the colder air... Okies.. Totes confused
  8. Why are the english forums full of posts? They've got nothing to look forward to.
  9. Cold further west on friday by about 50 miles. Still nothing for roi.
  10. Just looked at gfs never realised but it has me down for -11c uppers for a period of about 12 hours on Friday. Snow should easily fall in that. Didn't realise it was to be that cold.
  11. Yes very good, only £9. Barra Best is on the BBC now, hope he doesn't jinx the cold spell. ewgh
  12. Yes we did get snow, infact most of us in NI seen snow lol. Actually no it did not stick but it stuck above 150m, I think it lasted about 36hours and then melted. I must admit though, the snow took a very long time to come. It did not arrive to about 10pm despite the very low uppers of -7c, I think the temp was 2c with a dew point of 1.5c - the sea saturated the air.
  13. They are the gfs off the extra thing. I use them because they show extra things like the dew points and wet bulb. Sea temp now into single figures, so yes less marginal than last cold spell.
  14. Looking less marginal than the last cold spell which also produced snow. Don't really care if it doesn't lie, just nice to see.
  15. Its still going to snow but it won't lie or last. At least we will see snow, it coule be worse.
  16. Ugh this weather is actually so bloody boring. Its cloudy and 8c every single day...
  17. Don't know how you can get sleet with -9c uppers but whatever. Amateurs. Don't care anymore, so fed up of being drawn in by models for mega cold spells only for them to downgrade massively a few days before they come. Friggen crap. And them stupid mildy people make it worse by winding everyone up. Ewgh. Think 2010 was just a disaster in the making because no cold spell will ever be good enough now. I'm trumatised for life. Gonna be an awful winter I think.
  18. Sleet and rain. What???? We must be seeing different runs because thursday and friday are good.
  19. Just wait to the 18z. I've learn't not to listen to a single runs. Yesterday it went cold warm cold. It may do that today again. You have to be positive
  20. Well bbc have us down for 1c on Friday, so thats from the dogs mouth.
  21. You see yous wouldn't listen to me. And lookie now what the BBC are showing. Sea temp at Castlerock has dropped below the mean to 10c.
  22. Yes down for 4 days of 1c maxes which seems pretty good for me.
