  2. The up and coming week will again will again be dominated by low pressure the south and south east / East Anglia look like they'll hold onto high pressure for most of the week. Small hints of something a little warmer and settled towards next weekend from the south? or yet more LP heading our way?
  3. Well just to prove how cold it is a present there was snow at the top of the Snowdon mountain railway today, summer remains on hold for now, GFS FI shows LP been pushed away on the 21st with HP taking over from the 22nd, but as it's GFS and FI i wouldn't get your hopes up
  4. Maybe hope at the end of June? All in FI i know but keep faith the end of June may turn out to be nice who knows.
  5. Following on from Netweather's summer forecast predicition, the bbc's Paul Hudson has today released his blog, June's weather looks set to deteriorate further as low pressure intensifies its grip across the UK. The timing couldn't be more awkward for the Environment Agency who this morning issued a drought order for parts of Eastern England. Only hours later, the Met Office issued yellow warnings in parts of the country, including drought-order hit Lincolnshire, for prolonged thundery downpours that could produce 25-45mm in places, with the associated risk of localised flooding. Just as the atmosphere was 'blocked' through March and April, with persistent areas of high pressure that led to the dry conditions, the atmosphere looks set to stay stuck in a rut of persistent areas of low pressure, possibly for much of the rest of June. On Sunday a deep area of low pressure will bring rain sweeping across the UK, including drought-hit Eastern England. A respite will follow into next week with a little ridge of high pressure, before another area of low pressure swings back in from the west bringing more rain to many areas later in the week. It also highlights once more the dangers of long range forecasting. These headlines came from a detailed forecast from private weather company Netweather. They said only last month that 'Within the summer, we expect the core of the hot and settled weather to occur during June and July, particularly June which we think will be very pleasant with high pressure in charge across much of western Europe and the UK. 'Rarely has a long range forecast gone so spectacularly wrong, so quickly. Netweather will be hoping that July and August shows a rapid and sharp improvement - or more likely that their 'shades of 1976' forecast is quietly forgotten. Is Mr Hudson having a dig at Netweather? http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulhudson/2011/06/flaming-june-could-end-up-a-wa.shtml
  6. Hi, from here - http://www.wetterzen...n/fsecmeur.html - plenty of dire outputs at present And the deepest into FI Loads of heat all around us but the low pressure is been very stubborn and just won't leave at present.

A few sharp thundery showers develop across Turkey with sunny spells. Saturday Lots of showers to come across a chilly England and occasional showers too across into Belgium, Holland into Denmark. 8. Well that wasn't hard was it, why couldn't you have done that ages ago when asked? look fairly accurate to me.
  9. Would be hard if they banned your IP address then you couldn't, the only way you can gain a little respect on here is stop arguing go away do your lrf and come back and post it, until then i can see these arguments continuing which don't look good for any guests who browse these forums that's no way of attracting members is it.
  10. Yes well said, let's just ignore him and let him annoy people elsewhere the more we respond to him the more he replies, just ignore him and he'll give up in the end.
  11. Stick it in the Weather Discussion and Chat Forum, i can't wait to see this from a "trained" forcaster
  12. HA HA very good, weather12 are you going to provide us with a short term forecast ? as you keep telling us you are a trained forecaster i would like to see what your prediction is.
  13. UK Outlook for Friday 24 Jun 2011 to Friday 8 Jul 2011: Fairly changeable weather is expected to continue, especially across northern and western parts of the United Kingdom, where showers or rain are most likely. The south and east should see more in the way of drier and brighter conditions but there is still a chance of a little rain at times. Temperatures are likely to remain close to average in most areas, but will probably remain a little below average where any rain persists in the north and west. However, some southern and eastern parts of the UK may continue to see above average temperatures at times. 14. UK Outlook for Tuesday 14 Jun 2011 to Thursday 23 Jun 2011: Starting mainly unsettled and windy, with showers or longer spells of rain, heaviest and most persistent towards the northwest, coupled with a low risk of gales here at times. The best drier weather and sunny spells will be focused towards the east and southeast. Temperatures should be mainly near-normal, although suppressed slightly in persisting wetter conditions. Towards the weekend, a north-south split should develop, with the bulk of unsettled weather likely towards northern UK, with brisk winds here at first. Lighter winds in the south may give warm conditions in any prolonged sunshine. Into the final week, a northwest-southeast split looks to develop, with showers and sunny spells possible across all parts, however more commonplace towards the northwest, with brisk winds and longer spells of rain here limiting brighter weather. 15. I hope your predicition is true, if you don't mind me asking what does ENSO and QBO stand for?
  16. Lucky you, would be nice if you could bring the weather back with you lol.
  17. The fact that GP hasn't posted for a few day's now tells its own story really, nothing settled even deepest into FI which goes out to June 25th Low pressure after Low pressure making its way over us, Wimbledon and Glastonbury looking rather unsettled, I know Wimbledon is 2 weeks but at present the 1st week could be interrupted quite a few times with rain if the low pressure stays over us like it's showing now.
  18. Deepest into FI but some hope? If that in the Atlantic shifted over to us we would be well hot.

  20. Most rain in north & west Drier south and east Issued: 0900hrs Wednesday 8th June 2011 Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling High pressure brings drier weather to south and east Through the coming week it will always be the west and north of the country that sees most rain. Here low pressure will be brushing through from time to time, bringing fronts and associated cloud and periods of rain. 21. The drought is back, UK told Four regions to be given official drought status and have controls applied to water supply Four major regions of the UK will be officially declared drought-stricken this week, in a move that is likely to see special powers introduced over water supplies on farms and businesses across large swaths of the country. Wales, the south-west, the Midlands and East Anglia will be raised to official drought status, enabling the government and water companies to invoke extra controls over water supplies as a lack of rain afflicts a huge band across the middle of the country. However, regions that have suffered drought in the past, such as Kent and the south-east, will be spared many of the restrictions as rainfall has been at normal or almost normal levels there in the past six months. Scotland and the north of England are also drought-free. Paul Leinster, chief executive of the Environment Agency, said this year would not see a repeat of the scenes of 1976, as some commentators have predicted, as last winter there was enough rain and snowfall to fill reservoirs. But he added: "It depends on what we see this winter – next year could be the crunch year."The drought of 1976 followed a dry autumn and winter, during which stocks in reservoirs were severely depleted."We are in a much better position this year," he said. "Then, one of the big issues was that the previous year had been so dry, so you did not get a ground water recharge."Leinster added that the UK's water supply system had been made more resilient in the intervening decades. "We have learned lessons since then," he said. Although at present there are no domestic hosepipe bans in force in reaction to the drought, consumers may face restrictions if the dry weather continues. http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2011/jun/07/uk-regions-given-drought-warning
  22. Too much high pressure over Greenland and the west of Ireland i guess? as it's acting as blocking pattern sending all the bad weather over the UK, as per other summers, unless there is a big change expect things to stay as they are now.
