  1. Good Lord, my FB reads like the end is nigh. There are going to be 150mph winds and houses are going to fall down dontcha know? Where are people getting this from?!?
  2. You'd think looking at the other thread that this storm is dead and buried. I don't get it, I thought even if it does move south, we'll still be in line for serious winds?
  3. The live weather station that was linked to earlier on here has certainly picked up in the last few minutes.
  4. Sky News showing footage of lifeboat searching for the lost boy from a couple of hours back and the sea is already incredibly rough.
  5. Thanks JP, I think we are all grateful here for your insight. Keep up the good work
  6. Doesn't seem to be that windy here yet, it was worse earlier.
  7. That's what I thought JP. Even if it does track further south Kent is going to be getting a battering.
  8. Even if it does take a slightly more Southerly track it seems the south coast and the whole of Kent will be getting a hammering. Yes!
  9. Cat stuck his head out the door, had a sniff and is now behind the sofa. Sign of things to come or just being a feline? The swear block ruined my pun
  10. Pah, who needs movies when you've got suspense like this. The will it or won't it storm of Oct 2013 has got to be more tense tha Eastenders 'who shot Phil?'. Wouldn't want to be a pilot in the coming days
  11. Somewhere that is pretty much open to the elements and not protected by terrain like a harbour would be, places like Land's End and pretty much all along the South coast would be considered 'exposed'
  12. There is always something I forget to tie down when we get strong winds, I normally discover what that is in an unpleasant fashion the next morning...
  13. If anyone is doing scaremongering it certainly isn't the professionals on here or the MO, it's the Daily Express style hysterics from some posters on here as well as the newspapers themselves.
  14. I wouldn't worry too much, it may completely die down or change track. As long as you take all the proper precautions, you should be fine.
  15. As this storm appears to be the remnants of Lorenzo, I claim naming rights on Monday's Storm Lauren
  16. Bbc latest says it should track North Cornwall coast to Ipswich area, but stress it could still track 100 miles North or South of that. Can't link from home.
  17. A fee strong gusts last night and rain but no T&L as far as I could tell.
  18. Me neither. Seems to have hit only a thin slice of the middle of S England.
  19. Friends elsewhere in the country reporting a massive thunderstorm. I am sure the Medway shiel will hold strong for anything coming this way. Has been crazy humid today.
  20. Evening all, what have I missed? It's a bit of a shock to the system coming back to this after 12 days in 35C!
  21. Was lovely to hear the heavy rain last night, very few sounds in life more relaxing than that. I'm hoping the weather clears enough for my flight tomorrow morning, I hate taking off straight into cloud so you see nowt.
