    It looks really stormy out there this morning. When someone mentioned snow the other day I actually dreaded it. I need Spring in my life now.

    Well I hope it warms up soon my winter veg is looking rather sorry for itself where it needs the Spring sun to produce. I think it's showing signs of changing, there is definately not so much 'bite' in the air.

    Well I'm afraid I am being unfaithful to you all over the long weekend. I will be having an affair with Devon. I wouldn't worry too mch though as I hear I am in for rain and snow and general coldness. You know what they say about the grass never being greener....

    OH has gone off to play in Sunday League today. Surprised it hasnt been called off because of a frozen pitch. I see the initial heavy snow predicted for here has been down graded to light snow showers. What is this Thames and system coming from the SE doing?

    Very light dusting on surfaces but nothing on pavements.

    We've just had a mixture of light snow, graupel and snizzle here that has made everything rather soggy.

    Although I have 90 and 95% snow risk for tomorrow PM and Sunday respectively, I think it's actually going to be quite marginal. I think if we do get snow it will not be in large quantities. Plus I'm out for steak tomorrow at a restaurant you have to book a month in advance for so come hell or high snow I'm going!

    Well the sky fluctuated between looking like it was going to thunderstorm and chuck it down with snow throughout the day. Neither delievered.

    I really did think I would see some thunder and lightening earlier when I was driving home in the rain from T. Wells but it was not to be. Looks like I am missing out the system here in Medway as I can see it in the distance.

    I'm done with winter now. Either snow heavily and get it over with or warm up, the inbetween is starting to drag. Can you tell I am getting desperate for a BBQ? Going to Devon over Easter weekend and the forecast seems to be chucking it down with rain and sleet. I'm thinking it might not be bikini weather.

    There was certainly some convection going on yesterday. Had a couple of intense graupel showers and was surprised by the clouds and intensity not to have a few rumbles.

    Sun is melting the snow pretty quickly. But now some idiot has parked behind me and blocked me in so i can't get out.

    I completely agree with you, there was plenty of notice about last nights events, so the gritters should have been out. The last snow event had clear roads and everyone going to work, because the roads were gritted repeatedly for about a week in advance. All I was saying is that our winter events are nowhere near as predictable as most of Europe and we haven't got the equipment to deal with it, so that is why even with gritting, in many cases we still have problems. Lack of preparation (i'm talking several days in advance), lack of equipment and lack of winter driving experience. Somebody made an excellent point about preparing yourself. My Dad made sure all of us knew how to drive in the snow, how to prepare our cars, how to change your techniqe in the snow. It's just common sense! On a side note, the sun is pretty strong when it comes out between the clouds!

    I do agree the gritters should have been out as there was a fair bit of notice. However we are not like other parts of Europe. In other places they can almost predict to the day when they will get snow and how much and how long it will last for as they have pretty much consistent snow every year. They have better and more equipment to deal with it too.
