South East and East Anglia Regional Discussion 10th March 2013
Lauren replied to Snowangel-MK's topic in Regional
Well luckily we have a lovely lampost visible from our window so that will be partly my entertainment tonight. My condolences to the poor soul (and his family) at the bridge today who was in so much pain he felt he needed to end his life.- 1,011 replies

Not so much as a flake. I can only hope for a Medway streamer, those bad boys normally deliver the goods and then some- 1,011 replies

I dunno. I can't help but be a bit skeptical. BBC aren't having it and neither are MetO or Metcheck for NW Kent.- 807 replies

I'm sure I've asked this before, but I can't find it. Is there an idiots guide to understanding some of the charts posted here? I've looked in the learning section, but still don't really get it.- 834 replies

The No Storms Club (NSC) 2014 Onwards
Lauren replied to Jane Louise's topic in Storms & Severe Weather
Suppose it's time to renew my membership. Last overhead storm we had was June 28th 2011 and before that was I think around the same time in 2009. Had quite a good night storm last year, but it was never overhead. Let's hope 2013 removes the storm drought most of us have had. Would be nice to get a taste of the 90's back.- 447 replies

I'm actually really looking forward to not freezing my backside off all day. Roll on spring! Can you tell I'm currently cold posting this?

I'm not kidding when I say my main memory of my only trip to Eastbourne was being shocked at how many elderly people were farting really loudly, completely oblivious to it!

Sorry, I should have put 'saturated ground aside'. I of course would not wish for more rain when it could cause flooding. Was more thinking aloud in that I haven't seen a proper heavy downpour for ages.

I'd actually quite enjoy some heavy rain events right now, it would shake things up a bit, plus i quite like driving in it!

*sigh* Those were the days. Don't think we've had an all nighter since the 90's.

Did that happen sometime in June 2005? I remember a week or so where I got completely soaked to the bone on the way home from school 4 days in a row. The school was only 5 minutes away.

A light dusting here. Some quite big flakes at one point. Now turning into slush.

Had graupel on and off all day. I have been watching some storm videos in anticipation (and probable disappointment) for storm season. I am done with winter. I could of course be persuaded to re-consider if there were to be a significant event

What a beautiful day it was yesterday. If you didn't feel the temperature or see the bare trees, you'd be forgiven for thinking it was the height of summer.- 774 replies
