  1. Looks really stormy here at the moment. The sky has gone that grey-yellow colour it does before a big thunder or snow storm. We live in hope.
  2. The fog was insane on the way home. Like driving through a cloud.
  3. Are these rumours I'm hearing about it being a very cold, very snowy winter true or have I been Daily Expressed?
  4. Today is definately one of those days you can't wait to get home, have a comforting dinner and get on the sofa beneath a blanket with a cup of tea and watch TV all night. And that is exactly what I intend to do <-------exchnage the beers for tea and you get the picture.
  5. See this is part of winter I can get on with. Although cold, the wind is calm and the sun warms your face. This and lots of snow I can live with. Cold, windy and dull just make me mope about.
  6. Just had a hell of a lot of rain last ngith, no strong winds or hail or thunder and lightening to report. I imagine that's most displays tonight cancelled then!
  7. Had a brief hail shower in the afternoon. Other than that it's been quite boring weatherwise lately.
  8. I guess it aint called Explorer Of The Seas for nuthin'!
  9. I see Carribean Princess of Princess Cruises is currently in port at Boston, from it's webcam the weather looks pretty bad. I guess they'll be riding it out in port. http://www.princess.com/bridgecams/cb/caribbean_bridgecam.html
  10. I hope everyone stays as safe as possible. I feel awful for finding the whole thing quite exciting (the storm, not the damage). Just wish these things could happen without loss to life and property.
  11. If anyone finds my nipples that fell off from the cold earlier, please let me know so you can return them. Thanks.
  12. Evening all. Looking forward to the 'weird weather' if it actually happens. Some red rain would be quite a cool birthday present. Must say I do love driving throught the valleys with the fog, it's quire eerie.
  13. There's a Christmas meal????? How are we looking for the week ahead?
  14. The dip in the road was completely flooded on the drive home. I always get a bit too excited when I get to drive through it like a log flume hitting the water
  15. Evening all. Well OH was not a happy boy as he had to wait for the coach yesterday morning in the torrential rain. He only waited for 30 seconds but was apparently soaked through all day despite the coat and umbrella. You can certainly feel the winter bearing down on us quickly now.
  16. My parents always regail me with the story of the storm. My Dad frantically trying to make it back home with my brother and sister before the storm hit. My parents and my sister all snuggled in their bedroom listening and watching it as they couldn't sleep. My brother slep through the whole thing. We lost roof tiles and a huge tree that fell over 3 gardens. Next morning all the men came out to clear up and repair and the women were making tea and lunches as fast as they could. Very typically Britain pulling together in a crisis type behaviour. I was not born at this time.
  17. The sjy round here is crazy at the moment. Anvils, towering CB's. Patches of torrential rain and hail. If only we could have a proper thunderstorm.
  18. First night that my lights have turned on automaticaly at the start of my journey and stayed on all the way home I really hate this time of year.
  19. Seems like so many of us have the Summer 1999 storm stick in our brains. Must have been a big one.
  20. Morning all sunny but chilly morning here. Goig scrumping later. Have a lovely sunday.
  21. If its this cold now, I dread to think how cold its gonna be in January
  22. Anyone got that link to the Netweather Hitler film parody?
