  1. A lot of strood is flooded. Top of my road in Roch is flooded (which is weird because it's the top of a hill!!) According to my neighbour I missed the storm between driving home and getting here. I am most annoyed. is ther emore coming later?
  2. A few rumbles here in the distance. Hope we get a big one later when Im at home and can appreciate it fully.
  3. What a beautiful day. Sunbathing with a cold drink and a good book! I know it's a bit early but do we have any idea what weather we're looking at where I asm for next weekend/Monday as we're planning a family BBQ.
  4. Its been alright here. After very wet April the sun is out more now and te heat is coming.
  5. I think I'd have to go with thunderstorms. Whilst i love love love snow, thunderstorms just make me more excited and make me feel alive. Plus I love that if you get a proper summer thunderstorm, you get beautiful hot sun either side, so you can enjoy a big storm and BBQ in the same day.
  6. It's not often you feel a warm wind where I am and it certainly is warm today. Reminds me of the warm winds before the storm that roll in abroad.
  7. Crikey! Fab pictures. Lot's iof convection going on today, felt very thundery earlier, but nowt.
  8. Anyone got a link to Netweather parody of Downfall that I've seen on here?
  9. There's a load of red and white about to hit the North Devon and Cornwall coast! Does anyone think the stormy stuff is heading my way at all?
  10. It's now the hottest it has been all day and rising. Hopefully that may kick off some convection.
  11. Looks stormy in panama in the link in your sig Bill! Looks nasty.
  12. I know! Anything but cold, grey overcast weather. Do something! Anything!
  13. Crikey! Firstly last summer was actually pretty good. I was between jobs in the summer months and I sunbathed A LOT! Moreso than many recent years and I got a decent tan. I really do think being at work makes people think the weather has been worse than it is simply because you don't get to go outside in it. We had a beautifully hot April, May, September and October and the months inbetween were pretty warm. Secondly April is renowned for being changable and rainy, they don't call 'em April Showers for nothing. We desperately needed rain and to be honest I'm more than happy to put up with a couple of weeks of rain so the chnaces of a bad drought lessen. Where do people get this massive misconception that global warming = the whole world turning into a desert and never having any rain from?
  14. Me too. I also commented that they should have an option for things to be explained in laymans terms because I find that a lot of the time when I want to learn about something more complex it's always explained using advanced words and phrases and I am still none the wiser. I also want graphs etc to be explained simply. For example 'this blue squiggly line means A which is...., this is known as.....' rather than 'as you can see the hdsydhedurjfrhrhru is jdhdhrhriejeheu'.
  15. Innit tho - see my tagline. I think we should kick Robbie off the site, not knowing who Thor is? Shocking
  16. OK it appears from reading this thread the storm may have been going on a lot longer than I realised. It appears to have started around 11.10pm here. I only noticed it at 12am despite me having the curtains open. I think I must have been too engrossed in TV to have noticed, meaning I missed out on the best part! and only caught the last 20 minutes or so when it was moving away.....
  17. Got about a 15 minutes show last night. It was within a few miles, but don't think it was ever directly overhead. Haven't seen lightening at night for such a long time. Having said that it was too cloudy to see any actual forks. Was wonderful to lie in bed watching it out the window with the windows open hearing the rain.
  18. Thanks very much! Grrrrr, why must the activity be predicted for sleeptime?
  19. Could someone kindly post what the potential is and where please?
  20. The wind normally blows SW to NE or NW to SE, but definately blowing S-N today. We had 24mm since this time yesterday till now.
  21. Sorry for sounding like a dunce, but the clouds are moving in a totally diffeent direction to what they normally do.
  22. Before you start I actually love the heat, but I also love crazy rain storms, thunderstorms and blizzards. My idea of bad weather is long grey, cold days. This April has seen hot sun (for April) with hail like I've never seen here, thunderstorms and deluges and all within the space of a few days. Excuse me for liking a bit of excitement in my weather
  23. We had a wet and windy April, but I don't think anyone cou;ld say the crazy weather hasn't been fun!
