    Bbc latest says it should track North Cornwall coast to Ipswich area, but stress it could still track 100 miles North or South of that. Can't link from home.

    A fee strong gusts last night and rain but no T&L as far as I could tell.

    Friends elsewhere in the country reporting a massive thunderstorm. I am sure the Medway shiel will hold strong for anything coming this way. Has been crazy humid today.

    Evening all, what have I missed? It's a bit of a shock to the system coming back to this after 12 days in 35C!

    Was lovely to hear the heavy rain last night, very few sounds in life more relaxing than that. I'm hoping the weather clears enough for my flight tomorrow morning, I hate taking off straight into cloud so you see nowt.

    Can't believe it's going to be 32C next week! In Cape Verde I'll see if I can smuggle some sunshine back through customs for the sun lovers around here.

    I must say I am surprised we haven't seen any storms recently, the air has most definitely been muggy and we've had some spectacular convection cloud-wise.

    I'm at that awkward clothing phase where you can't quite get it right and you go from shivering to sweating your bits off in the space of 10 minutes. Those are the joys of Autumn weather.

    Nice to see it will be having one last attempt at an Indian summer next week. That'll get me in the holiday mood.

    So tempted to wear my winter boots this morning. I am refusing to do so until I get back from holiday.

    It's amazing how this very quick decline in sun affects mood. Apart from the cold lovers pretty mcu everyone has said how sad and gloomy they feel. I know my mood definately declines about now. At least I've got a holiday in October to grab some final sun.

    I have a 10k on Saturday. Whilst I like running in the rain, the cold wind makes it painful

    Well just happened to have torrential rain and very strong cold winds appear and hit me in the face half way through my run. Thanks weather!

    If it was a bit colder you could have mistaken today for winter. Almost wanted to go home and stick the fire on as the rain reminded me of those freezing January days.

    It has not stopped raining since the early hours. Not seen a day like this in a loooong time.

    And on cue for the family BBQ we have rain. Mind you, the BBQ is on Sunday which so far hasn't got any rain forecast for us and temps of about 23.

    BBC basically saying 'er we don't really know what will happen over BH weekend. Let's say rain to be on the safe side but it might change'.
