  1. First gust of the night! It has been quiet, then a 26mph gust from the blue.
  2. It might be like this, which i took in 2014;
  3. Already 10mm here from pre-frontal showers. I think some areas could see a months rain in the next 3 - 5 days. :O
  4. I think its likely that my low pressure record will go around 3am. The Euro 4 has a central pressure of 964mb, although the forecast on my site, has these comparisons..
  5. Warnings have been updated. The times have been brought forward and the yellow extended.
  6. It's very difficult to forecast a sting jet from the synoptics available to the public. The MetO would have more up to date info coming in, so they could anticipate this. On a few occasions, when storms have good timing with the FAX chart updates, you can sometimes see a back-bent occlusion on them- which is usually the sign that a sting jet occurred. The term tends to get banded around a lot now, as soon as a deep-ish low develops and heads towards the UK. Just to add; The strongest winds will be on the southern flank, so if one were to occur, it would be likely that Benelux would take the brunt of it, with a low risk of the far SE corner catching some of it.
  7. .. as I have just said in the regional thread, I've been finishing off jet washing the garden in the heavy showers that have been occurring here, lots of fun I tell thee! Just from the showers alone, there's been 7.2mm - large 24 hour totals coming up..
  8. I've been finishing off the jet washing of the garden during these heavy shower - I felt like a big kid again, great fun! 7.2 mm from these showers already. It's going to be quite a large 24 hour total, I feel.
  9. Showery today, although only 0.8mm has fallen. Temp: 7.6°C - Hum: 92% - Dew: 6.4°C - Bar: 1001.93hPa - Wind: SSW ~ WSW @ 2mph.
  10. Angus has some beef with the South of the UK! Some impressive rainfall totals being projected overnight, in to tomorrow.
  11. If that is what I am thinking, then that was probably the biggest fail I have ever seen. A red warning for snow was issued for Dorset, and barely an inch fell - they got it disastrously wrong.
  12. Short range NetWx model has fallen in line now. The rain totals are more consistent with other models in terms of how widespread they are, and also the wind gusts.
  13. Looking a bit breezy early on Sunday, 60mph possible on the exposed coastline, particularly Sussex and Kent, further inland, perhaps 40mph gusts, other than that, it is pretty short lived, with the Southern flank reserving the strongest winds for France. Rainfall totals still looking hazardous though.. Fairly sunny today, bit of a wind chill though. Temp: 7.1°C - Hum: 78% - Dew: 3.6°C - Wchill: 4°C - Bar: 997.77hPa - Wind: W ~ WNW @ 7mph.
  14. That is just down to eddies due to how the building is positioned.
  15. I decided to jet wash the garden, perfect day for it! Just 2.2mm from a few showers - top temp was 13.3°C and top gust was 39mph. Temp: 9.4°C - Hum: 88% - Dew: 7.5°C - Bar: 997.19hPa - Wind: WSW ~ W @ 8mph.
  16. Getting some good windspeeds on the chimney at the moment. 34mph gusts and a 10 min average of 20mph.
  17. As to not clog up the mod thread... use a better browser.
  18. Nothing forecast for here tomorrow, just 40mph gusts of wind.
  19. My average has rocketed to 7.5°C - 0.3°C above the MetO regional.
  20. I've been a bit busy and not really paid any attention to what the models have been showing of late. I don't know what Exeter's thoughts are, but some of the models indicate a lot of rain in some Southern areas Saturday > So while some folks in the mod thread bicker about what type of ppn will fall, there's a chance that rain warnings *might* appear.
  21. Sunny, but windy. 1.8mm of rain last night. Temp: 13.3°C - Hum: 83% - Dew: 10.5°C - Bar: 1017.47hPa - Wind: WSW @ 11mph.
  22. Mild, damp and cloudy, although there are a few breaks which show some blue sky. Temp: 15.1°C - Hum: 89% - Dew: 13.3°C - Bar: 1027.57hPa - Wind: W @ 8mph.
  23. Echoing the conditions above! It looks like some drizzly stuff is moving this way too. Temp: 13°C - Hum: 86% - Dew: 10.7°C - Bar: 1031.09hPa - Wind: W @ 5mph.
  24. These are supposed to be the lowest temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere at the moment. I wonder how low they'll get over the next week or so?
