  1. Just hit 20mm here. Pressure at 986.76hPa - wind gust 33mph.
  2. Central pressure that low, doesn't mean the winds are stronger, or make it qualify for a red warning. It is down to the pressure gradients and how tightly the isobars are packed, particularly on the southern flank.
  3. The rain has gone absolutely bonkers here. Driving in this must be a nightmare!
  4. The rain has really kicked in now, absolutely piddling down! 17mm.
  5. Here's a nice one from the pier: http://www.sortedsurfshop.co.uk/webcam_bournemouth
  6. This doesn't qualify for a red warning. Yes, it will get nasty down on the Kent & Sussex coasts, but we're not in the same territory as '87.
  7. Slowly creeping up - 32mph gust, 17mph windspeed. 15mm of rain.
  8. It doesn't mess up anything if you use a modern and up to date browser.
  9. 13.6mm here, now. The wind has started getting up too, 28mph top gust and 15mph windspeed. I'm sure the Purbeck hills will do their best to try and slow the biggest gusts down.
  10. Just to let you guys know, the periphery of Angus has just made landfall here.
  11. First gust of the night! It has been quiet, then a 26mph gust from the blue.
  12. It might be like this, which i took in 2014;
  13. Already 10mm here from pre-frontal showers. I think some areas could see a months rain in the next 3 - 5 days. :O
  14. I think its likely that my low pressure record will go around 3am. The Euro 4 has a central pressure of 964mb, although the forecast on my site, has these comparisons..
  15. Warnings have been updated. The times have been brought forward and the yellow extended.
  16. It's very difficult to forecast a sting jet from the synoptics available to the public. The MetO would have more up to date info coming in, so they could anticipate this. On a few occasions, when storms have good timing with the FAX chart updates, you can sometimes see a back-bent occlusion on them- which is usually the sign that a sting jet occurred. The term tends to get banded around a lot now, as soon as a deep-ish low develops and heads towards the UK. Just to add; The strongest winds will be on the southern flank, so if one were to occur, it would be likely that Benelux would take the brunt of it, with a low risk of the far SE corner catching some of it.
  17. .. as I have just said in the regional thread, I've been finishing off jet washing the garden in the heavy showers that have been occurring here, lots of fun I tell thee! Just from the showers alone, there's been 7.2mm - large 24 hour totals coming up..
  18. I've been finishing off the jet washing of the garden during these heavy shower - I felt like a big kid again, great fun! 7.2 mm from these showers already. It's going to be quite a large 24 hour total, I feel.
  19. Showery today, although only 0.8mm has fallen. Temp: 7.6°C - Hum: 92% - Dew: 6.4°C - Bar: 1001.93hPa - Wind: SSW ~ WSW @ 2mph.
  20. Angus has some beef with the South of the UK! Some impressive rainfall totals being projected overnight, in to tomorrow.
  21. If that is what I am thinking, then that was probably the biggest fail I have ever seen. A red warning for snow was issued for Dorset, and barely an inch fell - they got it disastrously wrong.
  22. Short range NetWx model has fallen in line now. The rain totals are more consistent with other models in terms of how widespread they are, and also the wind gusts.
