  1. Followed the events last night for several hours and on at least two occasions teh OKC netro area dodged a bullet with large tornadoes on the ground and then lifting and recycling - one skipping over Newcastle and Moore and another lifting just before Norman.

The atmosphere was rich and thick and the were quickly evolving into HP mode so the circulations were often heavily rain-wrapped and interacting with neighbouring cell's ppn shafts so it was all very messy and consequently dangerous.

As Roger says high-profile warnings and media coverage of this seems to have paid-off.

Going back to Joplin, and some very sobering reports are now coming out from chasers who were first on the scene. This year especially we've been reminded that behind the excitement and adrenaline of chasing there's often tragedy and heartbreak.

Not sure whether I dreamt it but I'm sure there was a report on one stream about Goldsby and a possible EF4 ploughing through?

  2. I don't quite qualify as a native, I've only lived in Norfolk since 1974 (no doubt longer than some have lived, let alone in Norfolk), But I have been "dwn tha ruud with tha hurses"

"No rain club" sounds a good option at the moment, although according to my rain gauge, I got 0.3mm of rain sometime early yesterday morning, not quite sure when

    That's 14 years longer than me rolleyes.gif

I have a question - is one's membership revoked if one experiences a storm in another county or is it only direct hits on one's house that count? unsure.gif

  3. Hi there from a fellow Norfolkian. I should have perhaps have typed the greeting of two Norfolk people when they meet outside of the county (the WWW probably counts) - "Hey yer fa'aer got a dickey, bor (or gal)?":hi:

Hello bor, how're yer gorn on? good.gif Thass yer dickey in tha' pightle then? biggrin.gif

  4. Do you want to start a No Rain Club Phil? :winky:seems a lot of people haven't had rain for a very long time and I think they need to rant just like the NSC lol :)

Morning Norfolk sheep and Welcome :D

Feel free to scream and shout your frustrations away here if you don't get that storm Lol

If I scream you'll probably hear it laugh.gif I must say thank you for the storm free welcome, I feel quite at home rolleyes.gif

  5. I'm still in here for 2011, haven't heard any thunder since the 9th September 2010. It really has been a remarkably convection-free period for Norwich since the 30th November (the day when that infamous dry corridor between two areas of snow showers became established) and I didn't see a single cumulonimbus cloud between the 10th January and 2nd April inclusive. My "cumulonimbus drought" ended on the 3rd April but I still await thundery activity of any kind.

Morning everyone, not really a newbie but I can never remember my password, I knew Facebook would come in handy one day (been lurking for about 5 years rolleyes.gif) Please accept my application to the NSC, is there a No Rain Club as well? nonono.gif
