  1. Corker of a day here, already done various window cleanings in the shade, chickens have been cleaned out and topped up, dogs walked. Grass cutting and marathon watering session later! "Beach" afternoon in the sun trap garden....
  2. Pfft, typical when I'm heading down to the Surry/Hampshire border on Friday! Not sure about Thursday, pop corn storms aren't usually up to much. I've always though that Clermont-Ferrand and surrounds would be an ideal place to live, they really do seem to cop some storms!
  3. I went outside around 11 30 ish and didn't see or hear anything, not even a faint flash on the horizon. Oh well, still July and August to go, probably just the average popcorn storm once a month with a couple of rumbles. Norfolk is hopeless these days.
  4. Apparently the closest lightning is 15 miles away and I should seek shelter As if....
  5. All far too east (sigh). Makes a change from being too far south, or west, or north I suppose....
  6. East Anglia? When? Where???? Believe me, the region isn't what it used to be.....
  7. "Beach" day for me, i.e. in the suntrap garden, catching up on some reading, with copious drinks, iced salad and an afternoon Magnum. I don't mind a nice breeze but yet another howling wind? It blew over a curio cabinet on a window sill and came very close to smashing a commemorative glass. Anyway, it was more than enjoyable, however brief!
  8. Corker of an evening after a fabulous day. Dinner on the terrace methinks! Bring on tomorrow
  9. Started out OK, but as usual the pesky onshore breeze and increasing cloud spoilt it. A toasty 42C in the greenhouse though!
  10. I'd just like a warmer air mass. OK, the sun is strong now but the minute it goes behind a cloud the temperature drops like a stone in this cool wind.
  11. Chortling at the 20C difference in projected temps between Sat and Sun next week! Surely 2 or 3 weeks at 24-26C on a daily basis isn't too much to ask.......
  12. Morning all More unrelenting drizzle for Norfolk this morning, my barn is full of Khyams and awnings still drying out from Monday (one of which dried nicely yesterday but is now wet again owing to aforementioned drizzle blowing in. Arrgh!) God bless June, eh?
  13. Yep, dull and damp, with slightly less wind than yesterday. Earlier it looked like the cloud would break but it's now just uniform yuk. On the plus side I found my Strike Alert which was in the caravan utensil drawer for some reason!
  14. As expected only moderate rain here in the early hours, however some of our judges are coming from areas where the rain has been torrential, so hoping they can get to Norfolk before 9.30!
