    Had a great journey up to North Wales today, wintry scenes on the hill tops plus a few even lower down, as seen here in Blaenau Ffestiniog!

    North West Wales Report (Deiniolen, Gwynedd) - Heavy downpour moving in from the North after a bright, chilly start to the day. Temperature now at 11C

    Friends reporting storms over Carmarthenshire/Llanelli, and Mum reported a few rumbles this morning in NW Wales - now it's our turn in Cardiff....C'mon T-storms!

    A few reports from back home about a small thunderstorm in the North West corner of Wales and there seems to be a small evidence on the 8:45am radar. Today is looking good! A few shower activity to the West of Cardiff now!

    Can actually see those storms that's just about flirting with us moving NE over the Bristol Channel. Nothing heard here due to the fact I'm listening to a brass band contest online but those showers popping up in the South West is looking good.

    Cool, Cloudy, (Although some brightness) and breezy here in North West Wales. Currently 18C.

    Travelled from Cardiff to NW this evening, and saw some of the worst conditions I've ever seen. Heavy rain and severe gales all the way, and some roads was really bad due to flooding. Parts of the A470 has been closed in the Dolgellau area due to flooding. Calmer here in Northern Snowdonia tonight although there is some heavy showers and gusty winds, take care.

    The radar looked really good for you this morning, but I don't know what has happened! Rain has stopped here now, but we've had some good torrential showers.

    Looking pretty dark to the NW of here, with some spots of rain. Lightning detected near Swansea...

    Just gone up to our attic rooms and had a look - there's a line of showers extending from Tonypandy, Pontypridd, Caerphily, touching Pontyprennau and St Mellons in the East of Cardiff, Newport and out to the channel. There has been a lightning detected in it although I was there for a good 15mins and didn't hear anything, but the city traffic noise and the wind is a bit strong today! I think that Cardiff will miss them all today!

    Some great cloudscapes around, plenty of convection that's for sure. Looking East towards Bristol some big towering cumulus clouds, to the South West a nice dark cumulonimbus, another one to the North of Cardiff and showers developing to the East Bridgend. Phoned mum to how was the weather back home in NW Wales, she said, cold, torrential rain but no thunder.
