18z ECM looks pretty much the same as the 12z UKMO, maybe a touch south. System comes into the south Friday afternoon, turns to snow widely across most southern places away from the coast (still marginal by the coast) then moves inland and slowly weakens. Peak northern extent is again between Liverpool-Hull, as it has been most of the day on ECM.
Peak snowfall rates over the UK of around an inch an hour on the band. Again 2-4 inches in the snow zone. SE Ireland utterly hammered again on this run, as are parts of Wales, figures there between 8-12 inches.
I don't mean to sound IMBY.... But does the snowband extend down to the Home Counties and London... South Midlands get a few inches still?

Yeah I know what you mean, Thursday is abit of a mess. I'd say that most places between London and my imaginary line between Liverpool-Derby get something, probably quite heavy in places.
However outside of that area, everything is still very much in flux. Could just as easily see a shift north by the 12z suite as south.
I never did believe that we'd have a bowling ball LP with no secondary depressions like was being advertised. Now we are getting close to the time we are seeing more and more of these in the bigger circulation and where they develop, their strength and exact location relative to the flow will make a big difference as to where the snow line ends up.
I wouldn't be shocked if the snow line is still being tampered with to some degree even on Wednesday I'm afraid!
Hi Chaps.. Is there a website we can view like Snow Means aross the suites of ECM/GFS. Obviously can view the GFS/GFSP/ECM but just wondered if easier chart/graph form and where i could view. Sure i've seen it before on here. Cheers.

Will xcweather change to using GFS P when the old GFS becomes defunct. Any ideas? I find the website's predictions quite funny at times (much like the GFS...)
Yeah its an interesting one i would of thought it would change to GFS P. Yes it will be funny it changes run to run because its the GFS.

Yeah i'll come up @Sweatyman The XC weather forecasts are derived by latest GFS data. so that is the GFS 18Z.

Pretty much as described then- about 50 miles North of M4
Yup. Cotswolds/Chilterns could join in on the action given height, i think the boundary isn't going to be far off.

Could do with that 50 miles further north
IMBY Syndrome! Its fluctuating North/South run to run but thats to be expected given the envelope. Someone could get dumped on next week, My prediction is Midlands Northwards.
